He is Professor Emeritus of the Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology, and Institute for Social Research, The University of Michigan; Research Professor of Life Sciences, and Founding Director of The Center for Evolution and Medicine, Arizona State University; Founding President of The International Society for Evolution, Medicine, and Public Health. He is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
