The entire playlist for this evening’s show is about all things ophthalmic. Why? Well, I’m fortunate to have had the same great optometrist taking care of my vision for about the past 35 years. It’s a very good thing when you can have a long term relationship like that with a top-notch, caring health care provider.  I’ve done a segment or two over the years about eyes, but good eyesight is so important, I thought why stop there? So, for Dr. Rossi and his very capable and caring staff, past and present, here’s a whole show of rapidly rotating records about eyes, vision, glasses, sight and so on.

    Enjoy the show!

    Here’s the complete playlist:

    Segment 1: Eyes 1

Be Careful With Those Eyes – Karl Radlach AHO (Bernie Cummins) / Band, v.

Two Tired Eyes – Original Indiana Five
Make Those Naughty Eyes Behave – Golden Gate Orchestra (California Ramblers)

You Don’t Need Glasses – Gus Arnheim and His Coconut Grove Ambassadors

Father’s Got His Glasses On – Cab Calloway and His Cotton Club Orchestra
Looking At The World Through Rose-Colored Glasses – Hooley Ahola’s Vikings / Ethel Stanley, v.

    Segment 3: Cross-Eyed

    I’ve Got A Cross-Eyed Papa – Sophie Tucker

Cross-Eyed Kelly – Joe Haymes AHO / Cliff Weston, v.
My Cross-Eyed Beau – Girls of the Golden West
Cross-Eyed Sue – Bud Billings and Carson Robison

    Segment 4: Eyes

I Idolize My Baby’s Eyes – The Captivators (Red Nichols) / Tony Sacco, v.

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Although I have a script and playlist for an April 8, 2007 show, I don’t have a corresponding audio file. This means that either the show was live from the KISL studio and there was no air check to post, or the show was never done. So for this week’s show we’re going to use the script and playlist and recreate that April 8, 2007 show. We’ll have some sister acts, celebrate the birthdays of Victor Schertzinger and Yip Harburg, celebrate National Poetry Month and listen to this past week in recording history. Keep in mind that it’s now July, 2019 and so the dates and events will refer to April of 2007.

    Enjoy the show!

    Here’s the complete playlist:

    Segment 1: Sister Acts

Sam, The Old Accordion Man – The WIlliams Sisters / Wayne Allen, p.

Ev’ryone Says I Love You – Anson Weeks AHO / The Moreing Sisters, v.
