Liz joined me for a live discussion on boundaries! It was such a great conversation- truly nourishing and grounding. Hope you enjoy it!
This conversation was recorded live in the Stay Nourished Community group on Facebook.
Well hello friends! Have you experienced wanting to relax but not being able to cause you feel like you should be doing more and more and more. In this episode I talk about my experiences in this month around choosing to rest and the challenges it brought up as well as some useful tips to tackle this mindset and finally allow yourself to relax and enjoy.
In this episode I mentioned:
Need guidance navigating connecting to your body wisdom and intuition?
I am here to meet you where you're at
We often feel more tired, moody, sore, and disconnected from ourselves and our needs just before menstruation; our culture has boxed these symptoms as "PMS", and over 90% of women get them every month. What if we began to see the pre - menstrual time as a time when our body is asking us to connect to our intuition? To connect to our emotions, our needs more deeply. What if we saw this as our SUPER POWER instead of seeing it as a problem or disease?
I read a passage from Eating In The Light Of The Moon, by Anita Johnston - this is one of my most favourite books, especially during the time of recovery from an eating disorder.

Why do I hate dieting? Well let me remind you that I am not anti- health or anti-weight loss; but both of those cannot be achieved with diets! Yup, you heard that right. So listen in to this episode for reasons why I don't believe in the BMI and that we need to be a certain weight to be "healthy" and also what can be done instead.
I mention the 5-week intensive course called Reclaim Your Intuitive Eating Power staring next month - hope you can join me on the journey to your intuition!

In this episode I add on to what I covered last week, by bringing in self-compassion as the best (and my favourite) tool to help you face those fears/aspects that hold us back or bring us back to "all or nothing" thinking. For me, it is the self-critic voice, that is my "frequent flyer".
Self-compassion is the main tool we use in the Reclaim Your Intuitive Eating Program - a 5 -week intensive program to help you heal your relationship with food, and awaken your intuition.
Many of us believe that we need to have strong willpower around food and in order to create healthy habits that support us - but I have a different view. Eating is meant to be pleasurable, and we have our body to guide us toward when to eat and when to stop. We just need the right tools to reconnect to our intuitive eating power.
When we start spiralling down the body comparison trap, we become obsessed with our body and external aspects, ignoring every other aspect that makes us uniquely us. This often leads us to body bashing and hating on ourselves...and eventually wanting to go on another diet (which we know is super harmful for our health), and we end up feeling exhausted, defeated and stuck. This episode provides 5 practical steps you can take to break free from the body comparison trap.
For this year's International Women's Day the theme is "Choose To Challenge" and so I decided to record this podcast to talk about what I am choosing to challenge. And that is the belief "I need to be fixed", "I am not good enough", "There is something wrong with me", by talking about acceptance and talking about my own personal experience of hating my body from a young age, which lead to denying my body wisdom.
Choose to challenge that belief, and instead choose to honour your body.

Our intuition is an interplay of attunement to your physical body, instinct, emotions, as well as mental and spiritual awareness. As Albert Einstein said "The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift." We need to learn how to balance our intuition together with taking action and to take meaningful action we need to be connected to our intuition. This episode will help you begin to unpack your intuition, and how to know when you are tuning in to your "filter".
Dieting and people pleasing drain our power. We feel exhausted mentally, emotionally, physically. In this episode I unpack 5 ways that the two overlap and speak on ways to begin to reconnect to your intuition instead.
