The Red Sox 4-game win streak came to an end with an 8-4 setback to the Chicago White Sox Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park.  The White Sox went back in front with 3 runs off reliever Zack Kelly in the 7th Inning and added 2 more runs against Liam Hendriks in the 8th Inning.  With the win, the White Sox ended a 6-game losing streak and won on the road for the 1st time this season. The Red Sox are now 3-3 against the White Sox with 1 more game between the 2 teams on Patriots Day.

Quick Response- The White Sox got on the board 1st on Sunday on a 2-out, 2-run Home Run from Matt Thaiss, his 1st of the season and 6th allowed by Tanner Houck.  Chicago's lead was short-lived with Wilyer Abreu hitting a 3-run Home Run in the Bottom of the 1st. It's Abreu's 4th of the season.

Duran's Hit Streak: Jarren Duran extended his hit streak to 7 straight games with a 2-out RBI single in the 2nd Inning that put the Red Sox up, 4-2.  Duran went 1-for-5 in the loss and has 1 hit in each of the 7 games during the streak.

Better Than Last Time: Tanner Houck made the start on Saturday and was vastly improved from his prior outing against the Tampa Bay Rays. Houck gave up a 2-out, 2-run Home Run to Matt Thaiss in the 1st Inning, but nothing else after that.  Houck struck out a season-high 7 hitters. He retired 9 in a row at one point and finished up by retiring 14 of the final 15 hitters that he faced.  Houck exited with a 4-2 lead and in line for the win, but the bullpen gave up 3 runs in the 7th Inning and that allowed the White Sox to go in front.

Liam's Return: Liam Hendriks was activated on Saturday, and he made his Red Sox debut in Saturday's loss. Hendriks gave up a 2-run Home Run to Andrew Vaughn in the 8th Inning.  Hendriks last pitched in the Big Leagues on June 9, 2023 with the White Sox.  He is coming back from Tommy John surgery and treatment for non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (diagnosed in January of 2022).  After improving to 2-0 in his 1st 2 Big League starts Friday night, Hunter Dobbins was optioned to Triple-A Worcester.

#'s of the DAY: With Abreu's Home Run in the 1st-Inning, the Red Sox have homered in 7 straight games (12- Total) after going 6 straight games without going Yard.  The Red Sox are now 37-15 in their now Yellow alternate jerseys (former City Connect). The Red Sox are now 1-4 in Houck's 1st 5 starts of the season. Red Sox fall to 11-3 when they hit a Home Run.

The Red Sox will also host the Mariners for a 3-game series on the backend of the Homestand and that series starts Tuesday night.
