The Red Sox will go into Thursday's scheduled off day back home in Boston with positive vibes after winning the series finale, 1-0, over the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field Wednesday night.  Boston went 3-3 on their Road Trip thru Chicago and Tampa.  The Sox head home for a 7-Game Home Stand having won 2 in a row and 3 of their last 4. Sean Newcomb, Greg Weissert, Garrett Whitlock and Justin Slaten combined on the Red Sox shutout win of the season.

On The Board 1st: David Hamilton got the Red Sox on the board 1st in the series finale with a Home Run to leadoff the Top of the 3rd Inning. It's his 1st of the season and it broke an 0-for-12 slide at the plate. Hamilton hit 8 Home Runs in 98 games last season. Hamilton has hit 7 of his 9 big league home runs on the road and 8 of his 9 off of right-handers.

Newcomb's Night: Sean Newcomb made the start for the Red Sox and worked into the 5th Inning Wednesday night. Newcomb worked 4.2 scoreless innings. He gave up 4 Hits (all Singles), walked 2 and struck out 4.  Newcomb exited with 2 on and 2 out after he struck out Taylor Walls.  Greg Weissert entered and struck out Yandy Diaz to strand 2 runners.

1,000 & Counting: Rafael Devers played in his 1,000th career game with the Red Sox Wednesday night. He becomes the 31st player to appear in 1,000 or more games for the Red Sox. Devers has hit 201 Home Runs over his 1st 999 games. Mo Vaughn, Ted Williams, Jim Rice & Devers are the only players with 200 or more Home Runs in their 1st 1,000 games played.

Look Who's Back!: The Red Sox promoted Nick Sogard from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday. Alex Bregman was placed on Paternity Leave. The 27-year-old made his MLB debut on August 2, 2024, against the Texas Rangers. He appeared in 31 games and played all 4 infield positions. Sogard had 21 hits with the Red Sox last season and had 4 Doubles & 8 RBIs.  He was 7-for-44 with 2 Doubles & 4 RBIs in 12 Games with the Woo Sox prior to being called up.

Kristian Update: Campbell went 0-for-5 Tuesday night and had his streak of reaching safely in his first 17 career games come to an end.  Campbell has 6 multi-hit games and has reached multiple times in a game 9 times this season.  Campbell started in the Outfield for the 4th time this season and for the 3rd time in Centerfield in Monday night's opener.

See You Down the Road?: The Rays and Red Sox will not play again until June when the Rays come to Boston for a 3-game series. The Red Sox do not return to Tampa until September.

What's On Tap?: The Red Sox have a scheduled day off on Thursday and open up a 7-game homestand with the 1st of 4 against the White Sox on Friday.  The Red Sox will also host the Mariners for a 3-game series on the backend of the Homestand.

Red Sox Trade: The Red Sox traded Pitcher Quinn Priester to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league outfielder Yophery Rodriguez, a competitive balance pick (#33) in the 2025 MLB Draft and a player to be named later or cash considerations on Monday. Rodriguez was touted as the 7th-best prospect in the Brewers system according to MLB Pipeline. He’s 19 and started this season off at the Advanced-A Level. Priester was acquired from the Pirates last July for infielder Nick Yorke. Priester made his MLB debut on the final day of the 2024 Regular Season, and he earned the win vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.
