He planned to abduct her, and make her fall in love with him. But on the day of the abduction, she had her 6 year old daughter with her. Ming didn’t care. 14 year old Sara had been walking home one evening, when she’d seemingly disappeared. Her family were extremely worried and immediately called the police to help try and find her. But the police had no luck, and Sara’s family were becoming more and more worried by the day, eventually convincing themselves that there was no way Sara could still be alive. If she’d disappeared, it was because she had come to some harm; some terrible fate; and they had no way of knowing exactly what had happened to her - or why.

Richard Basson called police to report that he had accidentally stabbed his girlfriend Carrie in the face with a pool cue. He said that he’d been defending himself and she had lunged towards him and impaled herself on the pool cue.

But as soon as officers arrived at the scene, they could see straight away that Richard was lying.
