  • Episode 327: Big, Little Joes
In his five plus decades of existence G.l. Joe action figures have stood as tall as 12 inches, and measured as little as 3 3/4". In his newest incarnation, depending on your frame of reference, he has either grown, or shrunk, to 6 inches. This week the Regular Joes, all of whom remain 1.1 scale, take a look at these new Joes as well as several other offerings announced at the 2020 Toy Fair. What did they find interesting, and what seems to be missing among this year's offerings? As usual they find time for Random Topics, toss in a round of What's in the Box, and ... for no additional charge, give you a bonus Show and Tell segment. Hard to believe they recorded this episode with little or no plan. You can check out pics of our What's in the Box and Show and Tell items at regularJoe's.com. Thanks for listening!

  • Episode 326: Make it ... Slow
After a brief hiatus the Regular Joe's are back in the saddle. At the mid-season point in the long anticipated Star Trek: Picard, the Joe's check in on what they think of the series so far. Clearly much has changed in the decades since ST: The Next Generation ended it seven year syndicated mission. Both the Star Trek universe and how television shows are created and presented have evolved in that time. Will Picard bold go, and find success, in this new and uncertain storytelling frontier, or will it be forever linked to the past? Also, a few months back Barry advised Dave and Tod to avoid Terminator Dark Fate, much as most of the movie going public did. This week they finally got around to checking it out. The results are surprising. Particularly to Barry. All this, plus the usual random topics and a round of What's in the Box. As Always, you can check out pics of our What's in the Box items at regularJoe's.com. Thanks for listening!

  • Episode 325: Sunday Morning Talk
Dave is taking to the road and Barry's house is in the throughs of reconstruction so the Regular Joes recorded this week's episode earlier on Sunday morning then Tod usually gets up. What ends up coming together is a pretty free flowing discussion about the nature of films today. Which seems appropriate given that it's recorded on the day the Academy Awards are handed out. What does winning an Oscar really mean for an actor or filmmaker? And, in an era where seemingly every property with the slightest hint of nostalgia has been revisited or reimagined is there actually anything left? Or are they just going to keep re-creating Spiderman, Planet of the Apes, and Charlie's Angels once each decade or so forever? All this plus the usual Random Topics and a round of What's in the Box where we learn both practice and hidden value of gaffers tape. Thanks for listening. And you can check out pics of our What's in the Box items at RegularJoe's.com.

  • Episode 324: Who Won the Super Bowl?
Each year at this time the most skilled competitors take to the field to display their prowess to the largest of audiences. The question on everyone's minds is, who will ultimately prevail and who will leave forgotten. Oh, and apparently there's also a football game that day too. In this episode the Regular Joes review the best of this year's Super Bowl commercials to decide who really won the day. Now that everyone's caught up we set aside a few minutes for some family time as we dive into the second season of Netflix' Lost in Space reboot. We also slip in the usual Random Topics and give an update on what we are working on, and with, in What's on our Workbench. You can check out pics of our Workbench stuff at RegularJoes.com and, as always, Thanks for Listening.

  • Episode 323: Make It So . . . Again
The wait is over. 18 years after he last took the captain's chair Jean Luc Picard is back as Patrick Stewart reprises his most iconic role. Clearly, with a 90 something protagonist, Star Trek: Picard, on CBS All Access, is a very different kind of Trek. As the Regular Joes assess this newest entry in Gene Roddenberry's universe they touch on the most recent Short Trek Children off Mars, take look at the IDW comic Picard: Countdown, and rundown which episodes and films from the 5 decades of Star Trek offerings best set the stage for this new series. Also the usual Random Topics. As always, thanks for listening!

  • Episode 322: Crisis Counseling
With just a few day's left before we Boldly Go to CBS interactive for the much awaited premiere of Picard the Regular Joes catch up on all things TV. First up they cover the wrap up episodes the CW's ambitious (maybe too ambitious) Crisis event. Eight years in has the DC/Berlanti-verse played itself out? Find out which of the Regular Joes is trying really hard to find something redeeming about the crossover and which one is ready to jump ship? Then it's on to a preview of what other new broadcast and streaming shows are on their radar for the next few months. All this plus What's in The Box. Check out pictures of our What's in the Box items at RegularJoes.com. Thanks for listening!

  • Episode 321: At Some Point ... in a Galaxy Far Far Away
As the dust settles on The Rise of Skywalker (1 billion dollars worth of dust that is) Barry, Dave and Tod are joined by Regular Joe Derryl DePriest to ponder the question, where does the Star Wars cinematic universe go from here. With the last three films either under preforming, or garnering mixed receptions among critics and and an increasing fractured fan base - what is the path forward? Or is it backward? Should Disney, "let the past die"? and start from a clean slate? Opinions vary. But it makes for a lively discussion. In this bonus length episode we also work in a round of random topics and let each host chose between, What's In the Box, Show and Tell, What's on my Workbench and yes, the long dormant Fun With Flashlights segments. Thanks for listening!

  • Episode 320: 2019 in the Rear View Mirror
As the Regular Joes get ready to close the book on 2019 they take a last pass at several of their favorite things from the year that was. Among these are Films, TV Shows, Books, Tools, Gadgets, Prop Replicas, and yes Action Figures. So, pretty much what they have spent the last year, and the last 320 episodes, talking about. Also, as it is likewise the end of the decade, they each pick one film from the 2010's that merits recognition for it significance to the era. There's also Random Topics and a round of What's in the Box. Happy New Year and Thanks for listening! Check out pictures of our What's in the Box items at RegularJoes.com.

  • Episode 319: What's in The Box
So you have three guys, say for example podcast hosts, who pretty much incessantly buy things for themselves. The only way Christmas gift giving works with people like that is if, at a certain point, for instance December 1st, they stop buying stuff for themselves. Is that really so hard? Yes, it's the annual episode where the Regular Joes, three guys who buy a lot of stuff for themselves try to buy something for each other ... that they do not actually have. Yeah. Good luck with that. Also, in what is pretty much a gift from Disney to Star Wars fans, The Mandalorian first season wrapped up on a not at all surprising high note. Thus, proving it is possible to make Star Wars content that everyone can agree on. I guess we have to go back to arguing about politics now. Thanks for Listening! • Episode 318: Skywalker Rises
The Rise of Skywalker is finally in theaters. After two years of Star Wars inspired controversy, there is finally a film that everyone can agree on ... yeah, think again. While film critics and fans tend to be split over this film, for this episode we managed to assemble a team of four hosts who actually come down on the same side. Once again Brian Mix (our Robotics Consultant and Galaxy's Edge guide) joins the Regular Joes to assess, evaluate and in every possible way SPOIL this final installment in the 42 year long (in earth time) Skywalker Saga. They also take a look at the penultimate episode of the first season of Disney+'s The Mandalorian and how it, retroactively, ties in to the new film. Thanks for Listening!
