Regular Joes Podcast

On this week's show, the Regular Joes discus how their favorite shows have wrapped up their seasons…which ones stuck the landing, which stumbled and which missed their mark worse than an imperial Stormtrooper with a faulty blaster. They also take a look at the summer series they are most looking forward to, but first they lay down their usual batch or Random Topics and they wrap up with a round of What's in the Box. For the last time ... maybe ever, we travel back to Westeros to visit the smoldering ruins of a once great city, and HBO series. If anything can be said about The Game of Thrones finale, it has people talking. After one last pass at GOT the Joes move on to the topic of Prequels. Why do they exist, what's the appeal, and are there any that live up to or surpass their predecessors…or is it post-ecessors? The game is on! No, not Avengers Endgame. It's Game of Thrones. The long-awaited final season of the water cooler obsession is here. And, now that Dave has finally caught up, we dig into the characters and conflicts that make HBO's hugely successful fantasy offering so good. It's a season like no other on a show like none other and it all ends so very soon. But first we take a look at Disney's preliminary schedule of yet to be identified franchise blockbusters, ponder the notion of an oncoming Avatar wave, and note the sad passing of Star War's own Chewbacca Peter Mayhew. The wait is over. Avengers: Endgame has made it to the theaters, and the record books. As you might guess it is impossible to talk about this movie without SPOILERS. And, at one point, we even specifically address SPOILERS. In fact, there is so much to SPOIL in this film that we even created a new SPOILER WARNING bumper to tip you off that there are, yes, SPOILERS. Now that that is out of the way. Hear what the Regular Joe's think about the 3 plus hour time and space spanning epic they've waited 11 years for. Who lives, and who dies. Who gets an impressive funeral with a boatload of cameos, who gets a second chance to live the life denied him, and who ends up dead at the base of a cliff on an alien world. Oh, and one big purple dude gets his ticket punched ... twice. We did warn you they were SPOILERS. One way or another, It's the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we knew it. Excelsior! The guys are back from a Midwest city far far away but still have their minds in the stars. First up it's a look at the now wrapped Second season of Star Trek Discovery. How was it over all?
