  • RC 0011: How To Bring Remote Teams Together
The adrenaline that fuelled your team to shift to virtual working is starting to run low. So how do you bring them together?
Today's tip has two parts. First, continuously express clear mission intent (like a broken record) and then over-communicate to help your team remember why they joined your team in the first place!
We know this is a tricky area so how are you managing this change in momentum?
Let us know by via email >>> [email protected]

  • RC 0009: Celebrating Virtual Successes and Small Wins
This is one of those tips that is important no matter what environment you're in, but also one that often gets forgotten in the virtual world - recognising and celebrating the team's success.
•Religiously celebrate successes each week (a weekly email sent at the same time and a conversation over weekly virtual drinks is a great way to do this)
•Welcome every team member to talk about their small wins for the week
•Don't limit the successes to milestones and productivity, have some fun with it! Did you get laundry done? Did you survive home schooling? Did you hit that at home exercise target?

  • RC 0006: Find A Brain Buddy!
    Don't go it alone!
That's the punchline for today's episode.
    Key thoughts:
•Establish a small group of people to help you crack problems
•Find ways to make it worth their while by offering to return the favour
•Respect their time by batching together questions and share with them what you already know about the problem or issue based on the conversations you've already had (in other words, pay the knowledge forward!)

  • RC 0005: Go Home...When You're Working From Home!
When you first start working from home it can be easy to lose the distinction between work and home.
Today's tip is all about how to find ways to mark the end of the day and signal to yourself and your family you're going from WFH to home!
Putting the work stuff in a box or shutting the door only gets us partway there.
Create a ritual by asking these two questions:
•Is there anything that happened or that I learned today that I need to pick up tomorrow?
•What is the most important thing for me to do tomorrow?
    Easy!
Before we go, we'd like to ask you a quick question: How are you going?
We'd love to know how else we can help. Better yet, send your work from home tips to: [email protected]

  • RC 0004: Trusting Your Team (When You Can't See Them)
As we've seen repeatedly from the different approaches taken by world leaders over the last few weeks, trust is critical in getting teams, companies and countries through a crisis.
In this episode we talk about four tips to strengthen trust with your team when working remotely:
•As the leader, establish intent (and become a broken record at communicating that intent)
•Set up the regular check in times to have collaborative, two way conversations about the project your working on
•Ask questions like 'How can I help you?' and 'What decisions do you need me to make today?' (instead of asking 'What have you done?')

  • RC 0003: How To Find Your Focus Before Video Conferences
So how do you find your focus before jumping on your next conference call?
There's a whole new set of possible distractions when we shift from face to face to virtual calls. Avoiding them is easier when you've set your intent and mindset for the call.
Try using a couple of focusing questions to help set yourself up for the call:
•What is my role on the call today?
•What am I hoping to achieve?
•How can I deliver maximum value to the other people on the call?
Also try turning off notifications while you're in meetings. Muchos helpful to reduce the chance of getting distracted from your intent.
