Hey guys, welcome to the Unshakable Man Podcast: A show and community for men who want to be their best emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual versions of themselves. This show is in the category of emotions and we talk about the tensions that exist when navigating masculinity in a changing world.
Our guest on the show today is Patch McCormick. Patch’s men's work story began when he got an opportunity to start an ad agency in a male-dominated ecosystem in Manhattan. After years of workaholism and recognizing the damage to his relationships, Patch decided to completely redesign his life, which included getting therapy, joining a men’s group, and quitting his job to go back to school.
In this episode, we discuss the serious crisis that masculinity is facing today, from the conflicting messages about what it means to be a man, to finding your feet in a feminist environment. We also talk about icons and ideologies, the value of emotions in conflict resolution, influential feminists and their work, and establishing new roles in a rapidly changing society.
