Following a conversation with the State Senate's Minority Leader, John welcomes House of Delegates Minority Leader Todd Gilbert to the show, for (further) discussion about the Democrat agenda at the General Assembly this winter.
To start with on this "Ronald Reagan Day," we hear from State Senate Minority Leader Ryan McDougle, who joins John for a conversation about the Democrat-proposed "Second Look" legislation.
Finally this morning, Jim Bacon -- of Bacon's Rebellion and The Jefferson Council -- calls in to show for his weekly segment. As is customary, John and Jim spend the interview talking about the latest feature articles on his website.
Next to call in to the show this morning is GOP Director of Communications for the Virginia House of Delegates, Garren Shipley. Recently, Democrats denied Garren a (volunteer) appointment to the state Board for the Blind. John and Garren converse about the matter and about his passion to help those who are vision-impaired. (Garren's own brother was born blind.)
Garren wants our loyal listeners to know that they can donate to the blind by making a check out and sending it to the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired.
The address for mailing a check is: 397 Azalea Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23227. (The memo line on any check should read "Donation.")
Calling in to the show at the bottom of the 7 o'clock hour this Monday morning is Virginia Congressman and Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good; John and Congressman Good converse about both the U.S. border crisis and the Democrat-led effort to remove Reconstruction-era monument Reconciliation from Arlington National Cemetary.
To start off the week, John talks once again to author David Shephard, who discusses his latest Substack article about the parallels between James Buchanan and Joe Biden -- arguing that for as bad as Buchanan was as President, Biden is even worse. (You can read David's essay here.)
Better late than never! Just in the nick of time for our last substantive segment, John's other half, Alonzo, calls in to offer a couple of streaming suggestions for all of us this weekend.
What a treat for the 9 o'clock hour this AM! None other than President Trump's former Housing and Urban Development Secretary, famed neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson, calls in to the show for a conversation with John about the 2024 Presidential Campaign. In addition to expressing support for President Trump, Dr. Carson talks about what he thinks that everyday Americans can do to help and heal our nation.
No football this weekend . . . but hey -- don't be too sad! Guess who's with us this Friday nonetheless -- that's right: former Virginia Governor and U.S. Senator George Allen! Governor Allen and John enjoy a "Picking"-free "Grinning" segment (John's dream come true, haha).
It's not only Groundhog Day, but also -- Friday!!! This means that John welcomes Dave Saunders of Madison+Main PR firm for a preview of what folks can do in and around Richmond this weekend.
