Ronald Inglehart is well-known for his work linking cultural values to political development and democratization. He was instrumental to the creation of the World Values Survey. In addition, he also wrote many influential books including The Silent Revolution, Cultural Evolution, and Cultural Backlash (cowritten with Pippa Norris).
Christian Welzel was among Inglehart's closest collaborators. He cowrote multiple books and articles with him.
