My guest today is Andrew Mitchell, an interior designer AND a coach for interior designers. Andrew helps interior designers understand how they should be charging, working with clients, important systems and processes, and how to navigate a tricky industry. 

Andrew has been in the interior design industry for over 25 years and launched his business, Mr Mitchell, in November 2000. In the early stages of his interior design business, he struggled with the systems and administration involved when running a business. Through working with amazing clients in the residential, commercial and hospitality sectors and by bringing his “can do” attitude to every job, he has accomplished incredible results and success. 

Andrew began his coaching business, The Design Coach, after he found a huge gap in the market for designers to have support and learn how to create efficient and organised systems, work with different clients, and set up accurate methodologies for estimating fees to run a profitable business. 

In this episode, Andrew takes us through what we should be looking out for when working with an interior designer, the problems his interior design clients come to him with, and the behind the scenes look into the business of an interior designer.
