  • Cade Flatt on his experience at the Millrose games, mindset, his ankle injury, and more!
    Today on the podcast I’m joined by the one and only Cade Flatt! Cade is currently a freshman at the university of Mississippi and already has quite the resume. While in highschool he became the 2nd fastest 800 meter runner on the high school all time list by running 1:46.48 coming just .03 off of the national record of 1.46.45! Cade also won new balance nationals for indoor and outdoor last year, and even competed in the USATF championships in Eugene Oregon. Cade recently ran the Millrose games and had a bit of a disappointing race due to an ankle injury prior to the race but Cade still came on the podcast and made no excuses and was very transparent and honest about his race and I think that says a lot about his character so I hope you enjoy listening to the episode as much as I did making it!

Rory is currently training under American running legend Ryan Hall and he most recently placed 20th at the 2022 world athletics championships with a time of 2:10:24. The weekend after this podcast was recorded he ran the Arizona Rock’N’Roll half marathon where he placed 2nd overall with a time of 1:05:28.     Today on the podcast I’m joined by Jordan Anthony! Jordan runs track and is also a wide receiver for the university of Kentucky. He just opened up his season with a 6.57 in the 60 meter dash at Kentucky’s home meet off of 2 days of training due to playing football. A week later he ran 6.55, got the dub, and broke his own UK freshman record! Despite being a duel athlete Jordan is quickly becoming one of the fastest sprinters in the NCAA and is only a freshman!

Mai has run for Virginia the past 2 years but recently announced that she is transferring to UCLA for the spring semester and for the remainder of her college career. Mia is a 4:33 miler and placed 44th at the NCAA cross country national meet last year so she is going to be a big asset to UCLA as they try to become a distance running powerhouse.

    Today I’m joined by Frank Lara! Frank runs for the roots running project group based in Boulder, Colorado and specializes in the 5k-marathon. His next race is the Houston half marathon this Sunday on January 15th. The field is absolutely stacked but Frank hopes to put himself in a position to win and give it all he’s got.
    🗣️”I am feeling very excited! The Houston half marathon, I’ve run it once before and that went super well. It was one of the examples where I surpassed my coaches prediction for me pretty heavily… all that to say it’s a race that I’m very familiar with... This is a race that I wanna put myself in contention to win for and I think it’s gonna be tough and it’s gonna be a fast race.”

    Today I’m joined by Devan Kipyego! Devan most recently placed 15th at Nike Cross Nationals and after this podcast was recorded he opened up his indoor season with a 4:07 mile. Devan holds a pr of four flat in the mile so he’s really hoping to go sub four this year and even says that he wants to go for the National record in this episode.
    🗣️”I think I have so much room to improve in the mile since last year was the first real year of my training and I went four flat so thinking off of that like okay two years of training. How much more? How much faster can I get? So I wanna get both the indoor And outdoor record for the mile”
