SAP Business Application Studio is SAP’s next-generation development environment, focused on providing the best productivity tools for building enterprise-ready SAP applications.The tool is based on open standards, offering flexibility and the ability to integrate with a wide range of community-driven tools and extensions.SAP Business Application Studio provides guided experiences to help developers, especially those new to SAP technologies, be more productive.The tool supports a variety of programming languages and frameworks, including ABAP, Java, Node.js, and more, making it a versatile development environment.While ABAP coding is not currently supported within SAP Business Application Studio, the team is working closely with the ABAP tooling team to explore ways to extend the tool’s capabilities in this area.SAP Business Application Studio is closely integrated with SAP Build, allowing for collaboration and reuse of building blocks across different tools and personas within an organization.The open-source foundation of the tool, based on Microsoft VS Code OSS, ensures compatibility with the latest innovations from the Microsoft developer community and access to a vast marketplace of extensions.Upcoming roadmap items include simplifying SaaS development on BTP, enhancing the consumption of SAP Business Events, and introducing visual storyboarding and graphical tools for Fiori UI development.SAP is exploring the integration of AI and generative AI models within SAP Business Application Studio to assist developers in writing code more efficiently and with higher productivity.Subscribe to the SAP BTP TALK Podcast:

He and his team are working closely with SAP technology teams, SAP LOBs and SAP developer community, on defining the right solution roadmap.
Yuval is based at SAP in Raanana, Israel and he joined SAP at 2004 and had several roles and tasks across SAP, mainly around the SAP developer tools area, starting with SAP Visual composer, continue with SAP Gateway Eclipse tools, SAP Web IDE and SAP Business Application Studio.
