Melbourne-based expatriate Bangladeshis have set up an organization called the Community Network for Disadvantaged People or CNDP to help the underprivileged people. Though it was primarily created to support marginalized people in remote areas of Bangladesh, the organizers are also helping Australian disadvantaged people. President of the organization Mr Rezaul Karim and General Secretary Mr Monsur Rahman have informed SBS Bangla about their activities.

সুবিধাবঞ্চিত ব্যক্তিদের সহায়তা করার উদ্দেশ্যে মেলবোর্নের প্রবাসী বাংলাভাষীরা গড়ে তুলেছেন কমিউনিটি নেটওয়ার্ক ফর ডিজেডভান্টেজড পিপল বা সিএনডিপি। বাংলাদেশের প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চলে প্রান্তিক জনগণের সহায়তার ভাবনা থেকে এটি গড়ে ওঠলেও এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের উদ্যোক্তারা অস্ট্রেলিয়ান অলাভজনক সংগঠনগুলোকেও সাহায্য করছেন।
এই সংগঠনের প্রেসিডেন্ট রেজাউল করিম এবং জেনারেল সেক্রেটারি মনসুর আহমেদ এসবিএস বাংলাকে জানাচ্ছেন তাদের কার্যক্রম সম্পর্কে।

Released by accounting firm KPMG  in partnership with the group Chief Executive Women, the report estimates the overall economic benefits would far outweigh the cost of making the changes.

চাইল্ডকেয়ার খাতে ভর্তুকি নিয়ে পর্যালোচনা করার প্রস্তাব করা হয়েছে। অতিরিক্ত কাজ করতে গিয়ে  অভিভাবকরা যেন এ ক্ষেত্রে আর্থিক ক্ষতির শিকার না হন সেজন্য এই আহ্বান জানিয়েছে অ্যাকাউন্টিং ফার্ম KPMG এবং Chief Executive Women গ্রুপ। তাদের প্রকাশিত একটি প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়েছে, এই খাতে পরিবর্তন আনতে যে খরচ হবে তার চেয়ে অনেক বেশি সুবিধা পাওয়া যাবে।

Adyan Bin Hasan, born in Australia in 2013, suffered a stroke during his birth caused him mild disability in his left hand. Later his family applied for Permanent Residency, but was rejected on the basis of his medical condition. His father, Mr Md Mahedi Hasan Bhuiyan, now seeking the intervention of the Immigration Minister to approve their residency application, speaks to SBS Bangla about the situation.

আদিয়ান বিন হাসানের জন্ম হয়েছিল ২০১৩ সালে অস্ট্রেলিয়ায়। জন্মের সময় তার স্ট্রোক হয় এবং এতে তার বা হাত কিছুটা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়। আদিয়ানের বাবা-মা পার্মানেন্ট রেসিডেন্সির জন্য আবেদন করলে মেডিক্যাল কন্ডিশনের ভিত্তিতে তা প্রত্যাখ্যাত হয়। ছোট্ট আদিয়ান স্বাভাবিকভাবেই বড় হচ্ছে, শুধু তার অল্প কিছু চিকিৎসা প্রয়োজন। পরিবারটি এখন তাদের রেসিডেন্সি অনুমোদনের জন্য ইমিগ্র্যাশন মিনিস্টারের হস্তক্ষেপ কামনা করছেন।  আদিয়ানের বাবা মেহেদী হাসান এসবিএস বাংলাকে এ বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত জানাচ্ছেন।

New research has found that addressing the mismatch between the skills of migrants and the jobs they currently work in, could boost the Australian economy by six billion dollars a year. The economic modelling by Curtin University found only 60 per cent of migrants from non-English speaking backgrounds are working in jobs for which they are well-matched.
