The Federal Government is pushing the states to introduce blanket mobile phone bans in schools with evidence the technology is affecting the ability of students to learn. Victoria has already announced a ban and Federal Education Minister Dan Tehan wants others to follow suit.

- স্কুলগুলোতে ঢালাওভাবে মোবাইল ফোন বাতিল করার জন্য রাজ্য সরকারগুলোকে চাপ দিচ্ছে ফেডারাল সরকার। কারণ, এই প্রযুক্তিটি শিক্ষার্থীদের উপর খারাপ প্রভাব ফেলছে। ভিক্টোরিয়া রাজ্য ইতোমধ্যে এটি বাতিল ঘোষণা করেছে। ফেডারাল এডুকেশন মিনিস্টার ড্যান টিহান চান অন্যরাও তাদেরকে অনুসরণ করুক।

The Campbelltown Bangla School in NSW was established in 2001. 52 students enrolled this year and the average number of students is 50-60 per year. They teach Bangla language to the new generation and convey the cultural heritage of Bangladesh to them. The president of the Campbelltown Bangla School Mr Abdul Jalil spoke to SBS Bangla.

Local councils will be forced to hold citizenship ceremonies on Australia Day following the introduction of new Federal Government rules. The government says the change will ensure a maximum number of people can become citizens on January the 26th and prevent some councils from politicizing the day.

ফেডারাল সরকারের নতুন বিধি প্রবর্তনের ফলে অস্ট্রেলিয়া ডে-তে স্থানীয় কাউন্সিলগুলোকে সিটিজেনশিপ সিরিমনির আয়োজন করতে বাধ্য করা হবে। সরকার বলছে যে, এই পরিবর্তনটি নিশ্চিত করবে যে, ২৬ জানুয়ারিতে সর্বাধিক সংখ্যক মানুষ যেন নাগরিক হতে পারে এবং কিছু কাউন্সিলকে এই দিনটি নিয়ে রাজনীতি করতে বাধা দিতে পারে।

Australia is going to introduce a Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494) from November 2019. This will replace the subclass 187 (RSMS) visa on 16 November 2019. Registered migration agent Kawsar Khan explains different aspects of this visa.
