On Friday 5 May 2017, the Australian Government announced the introduction of the new temporary sponsored parent visa for parents of Australians during the 2017–18 Migration Program year. The new visa would allow Australians to sponsor their parents to stay in Australia for up to five years at a time.

St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle was the venue for the royal wedding of Britain's Prince Harry and US actress Meghan Markle.  To make the royal wedding a memorable and perfect one, city councillors were kept busy. British Bangladeshi Shamsul Islam Shelim is one of the councillors of London and was involved in the ceremony. SBS Bangla spoke with the Mr Shelim about the royal wedding.
