From April 17, 2019, Australian citizens or permanent visa holders can apply to sponsor their own parents. This new parental visa is intended to enable a continuous stay of up to five years in Australia.

Ab dem 17. April 2019 können sich australische Staatsbürger bzw. Dauervisuminhaber als Sponsor für die eigenen Eltern bewerben. Diese neue Eltern-Visum soll einen ununterbrochenen Aufenthalt von bis zu fünf Jahren in Australien ermöglichen.

Emigration is a big step and requires a lot of courage, especially when a family of five immigrates. In 2016 Kerstin Horner and her husband left their lives in Germany behind to move to Down Under. For daughter Sonja Horner the idea to immigrate to Australia was frightening and she didn’t stay long. Saadet Czapski  finds out how the family dealt with the situation.

The second race in the Formula 1 World Championship will be held this weekend in the Bahrain Desert.
