Outbreaks of coronavirus within choirs in Europe and the United States has forced many singing groups to move all rehearsals online. Epidemiologists however have varied views on whether singing itself is to blame for the virus' transmission.

Thousands of Australians could have high blood pressure and not know it, even though they've been tested at their G-Ps. A new study has found current testing for hypertension can be inaccurate. The research, conducted by the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute over a 12-year period, revealed nearly one in five people have what’s known as ‘masked hypertension’ and means the condition may be going undiagnosed. Researcher at the institute, Professor Geoff Head, says using the 24-hour monitoring device for the study provides a more accurate way to test a person’s blood pressure.

Илјадници Австралијци може да имаат висок крвен притисок и да не го знаат тоа, иако биле тестирани кај нивниот општи лекар. Една нова студија покажа дека тековното тестирање за хипертензија може да биде неточно.

This week (May 18-24) is National Volunteer Week. Volunteers have remained on the frontline during the COVID-19 pandemic, whether it be packaging food for those in need, or checking in on the vulnerable. This National Volunteer Week, the community is being asked to recognise that although volunteers have been forced to adapt, their contribution has been as important as ever.  About a third of Australians volunteer their time each year and there are 5.8 million volunteers throughout the country, at least, in an ordinary year. But with bushfires, floods, and now the Covid-19 pandemic, volunteers have been leaned on like never before.

Волонтерите останаа на првите борбени редови за време на пандемијата КОВИД-19, било да е тоа преку пакување храна за оние кои имаат потреба, или правење проверка на ранливите. Оваа Национална Недела на Волонтери, 18-24 мај, од заедницата е побарано да признае дека иако волонтерите биле принудени да се прилагодат, нивниот придонес е важен како и секогаш.
