James Hatch served with SEAL Team 6 as an assaulter and K9 handler. He was apart of some of several high profile missions from the recovery of Red Wings to an attempted rescue of Bowe Bergdahl where he was shot and received a Purple Heart.

Since retiring, he instructs at Yale University and helps tactical K9's throughout the country with his foundation, Spikes K9 Fund
