At the UN Climate Change conference in Egypt last month, the U.S. delegation led by Climate Czar John Kerry committed this country to assume partial responsibility for the warming of our planet – and to pay what amount to reparations to “developing” nations portrayed as victims of intense weather and other consequences of rising temperatures.

The absurdity – to say nothing of the outrageousness – of this initiative was powerfully illuminated in a webinar yesterday sponsored by our Committee on the Present Danger: China. One of its highlights was a stunning observation: Communist China’s emissions of carbon dioxide – the gas climate alarmists insist is imperiling our planet and the human race – exceed those of the United States, the European Union and India combined.

The new Congress must repudiate Team Biden’s promise to pay the Chinese Communist Party climate reparations. Not a red cent.

Eric Metaxas is arguably the most brilliant, principled and courageous public intellectual of his generation. A serial bestselling author, he’s inspired by and powerfully evokes the lives and works of those he’s chronicled, particularly: theologian Martin Luther, slavery abolitionist William Wilburforce and religious freedom champion Dietrich Bonhoffer. 

Metaxas has “channeled” these historically impactful individuals in his newest book, A Letter to the American Church. It warns that U.S. Christian leaders, denominations and houses of worship are exhibiting shortcomings that resulted in their German counterparts accommodating, submiting to and ultimately being destroyed by Adolf Hitler’s Nazis.

America’s Church and patriots must stand forcefully for religious and other liberties in the face of: federal legislation effectively criminalizing their faith’s tenets concerning marriage; official lock-downs of their services; and the rising tide of persecution now abusing over 360 million Christians worldwide and increasingly here.

The White House has long symbolized executive power in the United States. In South Korea, it is the Blue House.

Given the policies of Joe Biden’s administration and the Marxist revolutionary ideology that drives them, it would be more accurate to describe the building he occupies on Pennsylvania Avenue as “The Red House.” Remember, just two months ago, he similarly transformed Independence Hall as the backdrop for a speech defaming half the country as “enemies of the state.”

Two recent actions show Joe Biden’s true colors. He has effectively ignored the massive popular uprising against the Chinese Communist Party that murderously oppresses its own people and seeks to do the same to ours. And Team Biden has provided life-support to the Communist regime in Venezuela by green lighting production and purchases of its oil.

With a leader like Joe Biden, who needs enemies?

The Biden Pentagon has blacklisted aerial drones made by a Chinese Communist Party vendor called DJI as “a threat to national security.” Thankfully, the Defense Department will no longer purchase or use DJI’s miniature aircraft.

Unfortunately, most of the vast numbers of such drones purchased by American consumers were made by DJI or other CCP companies. That means the Chinese Communists not only can access in real-time information about when and where they are flying and what their cameras are seeing. The CCP can also commandeer such vehicles at will.

It’s hard to overstate the dangers of having what amount to Chinese time-bombs operating in our skies. Official Washington is now publicly freaking out that some such drones are routinely penetrating off-limits airspace. What if they are not only surveilling targets of interest there, but ordered to fly into them?

In Iran, Brazil and China, vast popular uprisings are taking place despite actual or prospective violent government responses. Precipitating causes vary, ranging from outrage over Iran’s murderous morality police, to widespread Brazilian electoral fraud, to the Chinese Communist Party’s deadly COVID-19 lockdowns. But these revolts have two things in common:

First, in these three nations, men, women and children are risking everything to demand freedom. They know the stakes and still they take to the streets to denounce the totalitarians and defy their orders to disperse.

And, second, in all three cases, the United States government under Joe Biden is on the wrong side. He wants: a nuclear deal with the mullahs; the advance of communism in Brazil and throughout our hemisphere; and to appease his old friend, Chinese emperor Xi Jinping – not proliferating liberty.

America must stand for, and with, freedom.

We are witnessing an inexorable, relentless and devastating crime against humanity. As a direct result of the deliberate destruction by Vladimir Putin of Ukraine’s power generation and distribution system, known colloquially as the electric “grid,” harsh winter cold is inflicting upon that country’s people terrible privation leading, inevitably, to extensive loss of life.

It is not enough to decry, or even punish, this potentially genocidal form of warfare. We must urgently learn from it being unleashed on Ukraine – and act appropriately.

We’re on notice that America’s enemies are not only aware of our grid’s vulnerability to various forms of catastrophic attack. They have planned, and are prepared, to exploit this national Achilles’ heel by, as in Ukraine for example, taking out critical high-voltage transformers.

Billions of dollars have already been allocated to upgrade our infrastructure. We must secure the U.S. grid now.

House Republicans recently announced their determination to investigate Joe Biden’s personal and deep compromise by the Chinese Communist Party. Unfortunately, evidence abounds of this most serious penetration of America’s leadership by a hostile foreign power in the history of our Republic.

The most recent example is the Biden administration’s acceptance last week of the principle that the United States has to pay what amount to reparations to developing nations for helping warm the planet. If this agreement stands, we can only guess at the extent of the wealth transfer in prospect – and its squandering by corrupt recipients.

What we do know is that the Chinese Communist Party will be a prime beneficiary of this arrangement on the absurd pretext that China is still a “developing nation” and a responsible environmental steward.

Memo to the GOP: Say “No” to Joe “Beijing Biden.”

Our country’s Founders had a central preoccupation: preventabusive government. They crafted a constitution with a system of checks and balances to guarantee God-given individual rights, prevent the concentration of federal power that would threaten them and repose authority in representatives closest, and, therefore accountable, to the people.

The Biden administration is systematically wrecking this arrangement. It is ruling with sweeping executive orders, weaponizing law enforcement and otherwise a bridging personal freedoms and making international commitments without popular mandates that threaten worse in the future.

Consider Team Biden’s agreement at the G-20 meeting last week to institute a digital vaccine passport system to control international travel. Will the new Republican House save our freedoms – and Republic?

The clock surely is now running on Joe Biden’s resignation. If promises made yesterday by senior Republican congressmen come to fruition, in less than two months he will personally be the subject of one or more investigations that could lead to criminal indictments.

The most serious line of inquiry would concern evidence that the “Big Guy” has effectively aided and abetted America’s mortal enemy: the Chinese Communist Party. If that’s confirmed, he must be prosecuted for treason, the highest of impeachable crimes and misdemeanors.

In his enfeebled state, it strains credulity that Joe Biden will submit to such an investigation, let alone indictment. In exchange for his prompt resignation, he may seek, or at least receive, a full pardon.

Either way, congressional investigators must ensure that, henceforth, the White House is not occupied by a president compromised by the Chinese Communist Party.
