  • 083 | How To ADHD Via Video
There are videos on everything these days … including How to ADHD via video.
Jessica McCabe joins me today to talk about her YouTube Channel.
I think her Twitter bio sums it up best:
“Building a toolbox of techniques for tackling ADHD. I’ll tweet about the latest research, tried techniques, and my own foibles along the way to ADHD adulthood.”
Go ahead, watch the video and subscribe and then come back and listen to us talk all about How to ADHD.
    JESSICA'S AWESOME QUOTE:
“This is not something I need to overcome, this is just who I am. It’s a part of me.”
    ADHD Via Video
Jessica explains about How to ADHD gives information in fun (and short) videos.
For example, as she puts it, “We have some trouble with our executive function. But, what does every executive need? A secretary.”
And then continues describing how your To-Do list could be seen as your own personal secretary.
In this episode, Jessica shares how so much about ADHD is about perspective. And changing your perspective is powerful.
Rather than viewing traits as defects or flaws, you can choose to see gifted and unique.
As well with that darn ‘ol To-Do list…it can feel like your ball and chain or you can take care of it as you would a pet, with love and devotion.
Please do reach out and let Jessica know your thoughts on the show…this is, after all, her first time on a podcast.

Listen in, as I introduce a new segment called bADD Information with cohost Agnes Green, of Agnes Green Coaching. She loves to rip into the bad players and shed light on truth.

  • 080 | My Stark Reality: A Story of Self-Discovery
Meet Erin Stark. In this episode, she shares with us her story of self-discovery. You see, today, her reality is quite good, but it wasn’t always this way. When I met her, she was in quite a different and darker place.
But, she began to learn about mental health including ADHD, trauma, and attachment disorders.
Little by little, she eventually learned about what makes her tick. She read a lot. And now, she has a lot of information she’d love to share with you.
Feel free to reach out to her on Twitter or Instagram.
    ERIN'S AWESOME QUOTE:
“We live our lives differently and that doesn’t mean we’re wrong.”
    Self-Discovery
For Erin, her journey of self-discovery began online. She reached out to the world to find others like her.
She wanted community support. And within minutes, I read her post and invited her to join my closed Facebook Group, See in ADHD. You, too, are invited to join. It’s a closed group in order to maintain privacy.
An avid reader, Erin has educated herself on psychology and neuroscience. (She and I both love Carl Jung.) Listen, as she describes her “quantum leaps."
And, she’s happy to try and help anyone who reaches out with a question. She is so resourceful, I’m certain if she doesn’t know the answer she will know how to find it out!

  • 079 | The Game-changer - Sports And ADHD
The game-changer: sports. My guest today: Tom Morgan. Listen in, as he shares insights on life with ADHD, Aspergers Syndrome, and Tourette Syndrome.
Tom begins with stories of his childhood, recounting how his family and school life was pretty rough. Due to the fact that no one understood him, they labeled him a naughty boy. But, he couldn’t help behaving the way he did.
Finally, at 15, he was diagnosed with Tourette’s and then at 21, with ADHD and Asperger’s.
Diagnosis of these conditions set Tom on a whole new journey into self-awareness and self-acceptance. Although, as he tells it, at first he didn’t want to accept any of it and kept everything to himself.
Finally, about a year ago, he decided to go public and share his struggles with his friends and the whole world. He also met Mark Williams and began public speaking and making television appearances, raising much needed awareness into mental health in the UK.
His advice: “Take as much help as you can, it will lift a lot of weight off your shoulders.”
See the links below or feel free to email him directly [email protected]
    TOM'S AWESOME QUOTE:
“Be yourself and try to get on with your life as best you can and be as happy as you can.”
    The Game-changer: Sports
Tom describes how for him, because of his boundless energy, the game-changer was sports. He says sports can change your life and gives credit because of the unity it brings people.
He loves all things about rugby even though he’s had 30 operations due to injuries.
His passion is obvious as he tells me how he loves putting his all into the game; however, he also admits at one point when he was younger, it was a bit of a problem trying to maintain that same intensity off the field.
He’s finally happy just being who he is. He’s also happy to help spread the message to others, that whether it’s sports or art or music, just do what you love and love yourself.

  • 078 | 5 Dating Challenges When You're Single With ADHD
If you’re single, you might could come up with more than 5 dating challenges. Jeremy Michael, a sexy single firefighter, joins me today to talk about the 5 top ones he struggles with most (listed below) as well as promote a new support group he’s created on Facebook, ADHD Singles.
Listen, as he explains his intentions for the group…IT IS NOT A DATING SITE!
He’s looking for others to share the trials and tribulations of dating with ADHD.
Being single is not exactly what Jeremy planned on, however, as he sees it, he’s rocking’ it now. At 34, he’s finally embracing his ADHD in a way he just couldn’t when he was younger.
Diagnosed as an adult. Jeremy details for us what it was like to get a diagnosis that made him look back on his life with so much more clarity. He says the reason his previous relationships didn’t work out were because of him…and more specifically, his ADHD.
But, he’s older and wiser now…and is still just as much fun as he ever was.
    JEREMY'S AWESOME QUOTE:
“It’s a lifelong thing so you might as well embrace it and do something awesome with it.”
    5 Dating Challenges
Dating can be challenging for anyone; however, when you have ADHD, there are a few things that can make it more difficult. Jeremy explains how some things are just harder to do because of the way he’s wired. It’s not that these things cannot happen. It’s that it takes a lot of mental energy to make them happen.
5 dating challenges when you’re single with ADHD:
    1) Being on time.
    2) Focusing on the other person.
    3) Remembering what they are saying.
    4) Making small talk.
    5) Figuring out when you’re going to tell them about your ADHD.
In this episode, Jeremy and I talk about each one and how it can negatively impact a good time. We also talk about the enchanting honeymoon stage of relationships, and how when that hyperfocus on the other person wears off, if not prepared, can do some heavy damage to any relationship.

  • 075 | More Movement And ADHD
‘More movement’ sums up a lot about my guest, Kris Moauro (pronounced More-Oh), who discovered at age 36 that he has ADHD, finally explaining why he was always on the move.
I met Kris back in 2013 at ADDCoach Academy (ADDCA) where we both trained to be ADHD Coaches.
Listen in, as I catch up with what’s he’s been up to…it’s exciting!
    KRIS' AWESOME QUOTE:
"I saw what all those negative beliefs and thoughts did to me. I'm a firm believer you can change that around and start putting positive things in."
    More Movement
It was after his diagnosis when self-discovery and self-awareness inspired the creation of his company More Movement. As he says on his website, “I want to be a part of a world that empowers people with ADHD to KEEP MOVING towards the experience of connecting to a loving, supporting community of acceptance.”

  • 074 | The Glitches And Glitter Of ADHD
“That’s the glitches and glitter of my ADHD,” is the best way I’ve heard, in a long time, to describe the double edge sword that defines ADHD.
Billie Henderson, mommy, wife, and adventurer, joins me in this episode, sharing her experience when first trying acupuncture to treat her anxiety associated with ADHD.
Because she is not one for pharmacological treatments, she instead, turns to the “I’ll try anything once” method that has probably served her best.
    BILLIE'S AWESOME QUOTE:
“For a long time I just got stuck in the glitches and the negative self-talk that comes with that … it’s the nevers and the always that kill ya.”
    The Glitches and Glitter
Exploring the glitches and glitter of ADHD with Billie becomes a poignant journey because of her insightful awesomeness. Most of all, she’ll wow you with one example after another in her soul baring jaunt into her psyche.
I admire her bravery as she opens up with stories that will have you on the edge of your seat.
One especially relevant example of an ADHD glitch, according to Billie, is when she hears of something and says, “Ooh, I really want to do that,” only to later admit, “Oh yeah, I forgot about it.” Or, when she describes how heartbreaking it is that sometimes, even with her kids, she mentally just isn’t “there.”
Yet, when she shines, she’s all glitter, because when she manages to do 5 things at once, quickly and effectively, it’s much to the amazement of others. And, take her photographic memory, it’s one to envy, as she credits it to knowing where anything is at any given moment.

  • 073 | ADHD Support Starts At Home
The best ADHD support starts at home. In this episode you’ll hear these wise words, and more, from a mom who has co-created with her husband a family strong.
Adrienne McLean is in business for herself as a trained presentations and marketing coach. Please check out her website, The Speakers Practice, below.
The skills she’s learned in helping others build confidence and create an engaged mindset, are the same ones she’s used as a parent.
    ADRIENNE'S AWESOME QUOTE:
“Not giving up, I think that is something you have to develop … and that really helps focus on keeping going on what’s working.”
    ADHD Support Starts
In the family, that’s where ADHD support starts, according to my guest toady. Two of her three children are diagnosed with ADHD, so listen as she shares stories including the impact during the teenage years, I think will resonate with many parents!
Adrienne McLean also shares a lot about her growing up in a family of hard working entrepreneurs to becoming one herself. And you know what? She strongly suspects she has ADHD too, but hasn’t been officially diagnosed.
