Radiation Planning Principles for Gynecologic Oncology (part of the Fellow Core Lecture Series) – Hour long lecture from Anuja Jhingran, MD at MD Anderson that reviews radiation fields, IMRT, specific organ dose limits, vaginal brachytherapy delivery to name a few. This is a good overview of radiation basics and treatment for the different disease sites.

Mallen and Zeligs, who recently took the ABOG board exam, addressing several different approaches to case list preparation. As part of the taskforce, we have recognized several SGO members who had taken the ABOG board exam have different approaches to their case list preparation, and we wanted to make sure we provide effective resources for all of those candidates coming up this year on what we were able to be successful with our case list. Some questions covered during the interview:

1. What is the timeline for case list creation and submission?
2. How many cases do I need?
3. What cases do I need to include on my list?
4. What about the ABOG approved abbreviations?
5. When should I have the required affidavits signed?

Join Dr. AlHilli as she interviews Dr. Amanda Nickles Fader addressing specific questions of mentorship, conducting clinical trials and rare disease in gynecologic oncology, and having success in clinical trials. Dr. Fader also discussed the SGO BRIDGES Research Initiative, a new, longitudinal clinical trials workshop for early career investigators with the aim of developing the next generation of trialists who will lead investigator-initiated and cooperative group gynecologic cancer clinical studies. It is designed to bridge the gap between translational scientists and clinical trialists in gynecologic oncology by providing formal training for young investigators in clinical trial design, connecting participants with expert mentors, and supporting the development of novel clinical trials.
