Shattering every darn glass ceiling they tried to put over our heads, our guest today was named one of the 30 Hottest Women in Politics by the Washington Times. Lisa Daftari shares how her relentless passion and purpose gave her the sense of mission in pursuing a path of journalism and becoming a political commentator. Lisa asks us to reflect on not how successful we are but whether we use all we have in this lifetime to make a difference. It’s a life journey to find what our gifts are- often times it’s the very talent that we take for granted. Lisa talks about how she finds her courage in covering challenging stories abroad and handling death threats for her views, by focusing on the people who thank her for being the voice for those who don’t have one. “This isn’t a career or a job,” as Lisa says, “it’s my calling.”

My key takeaways from my talk with Lisa: Allow yourself the rip and repair of life to build your emotional muscles to handle anything. Anything is possible with an authentic connection with our why and with hard work behind it! Everyone has a talent- if you cant find your gift its because you’re probably taking it for granted. We don’t have any excuse to not be courageous because of the sacrifices the generation before us went through to be in this free country. What if we looked at life not with the lens of how will i have the strength to do this but how could i live with myself if I didn’t. Knowledge is power- there is nothing more powerful we can do to fight the good fight without being informed!
