Is fear necessary? We often hear people talk about it as a motivator. 

For example, the fear of catching Coronavirus can motivate people to stay home. 

Is fear inevitable? We often hear people discuss fear as if certain situations would evoke fear in everyone. 

For example, you might lose your job...well of course you're worried and afraid. 

Listen, if you can't transcend fear then why not use it? We agree. 

But if there was a way to live free of fear...would you give it a try? 

This week we take a look at what it means to transcend fear and we give some advice on how you can take your first steps through the fearful thoughts that wreak havoc on your emotions and actions.

It doesn’t matter how spiritual you are, most of us have a way that we respond to stress and things we perceive to be scary - physically, economically, psychologically. 

Most of us wish our fear response was a bit more refined - e.g., not moving immediately to fight (for example, lashing out at others on social media or yelling at your partner for the slightest thing, flight (like turning to drugs and alcohol or checking out emotionally), or freeze (like focusing incessantly on “fixing” the issue without thinking it through and to the detriment of other needs). 

In this episode, Ali and I walk you through why we respond the way we do when shit gets real…and we help you to wake up to your own personal pattern of response to events that bring up fear and anxiety. 

Once you know your pattern, transcendence is possible…choice is possible.

However, the power of tantra - while rooted in the physical - transcends the pleasure of the body. It is indeed one of the fastest ways to confront and heal old wounds and start to love yourself, truly and deeply.

This week we address a listener question about what it means to be an empath and we loop in highly sensitive people (HSPs) just for the hell of it.

Here's the truth: we create boundaries to protect us from the things that hurt. We build boundaries to help us say in advance what we're afraid to say in the moment. 

But what if we use boundaries to help us wake up to the things that are important to us then let them go in order to allow presence and power to take hold in our lives. 

We spend our lives trying to avoid negative emotion. We spend our lives trying not to come off as inconsiderate, an asshole, or too direct. 

We attempt to set up rules for others to follow when we don't trust ourselves enough to speak our truth in the moment. 

We say things like, "I'm focusing on my health so please keep in mind that I won't be able to stay later than 6pm everyday." And when your boss doesn't remember or respect the boundary you've set, you get angry because here you are working late again. Wait!? Who's not respecting your boundaries?

In this episode, we take a hard look at the many ways we erect walls around ourselves and try to put the responsibility for our well-being on others. And, then we help you break those walls down.
