This episode is about how we can build some roots into our journey and not be easily blown over. I'm using the analogy of the olive tree, what many scientists call the indestructible tree. And I'm going to share with you three ways to build roots in your life in your business that will help you have a more sustainable and profitable journey, based on how this tree thrives even in the harshest conditions. But before I spill the tea… I’ll be sharing some vulnerable updates on my chronic illness journey. So tune in and share your takeaways with me.

This episode is near and dear to my online roots because it's taken me way back to the beginning of my business when I was doing digital marketing services and that’s just one thing I have in common with our guest for this episode.

In this episode I share some of the reasons I have held back from investing in myself and what it’s cost me. For years I was just trying to figure out how to handle or manage my pain so when it came to thinking about anything else it all took the back seat. Have you ever felt that way about something or have even said, “I’ve got more important things to take care of, this can wait.” I am the first to say that I am no pro at saying “Yes” to opportunities to invest in myself but when I have, it’s paid off and because of that I do my best to intentionally look for opportunities to invest in my emotional, mental and everything in between. I’ll share my perspective on the importance of investing in your mental and emotional health and how the choice of whether to invest or not can affect our success in life and business.

I am so excited to have Alicia Chester, founder of Our Southern Gentleman on the show. She is a seamstress, a maker of kids' accessories. She really encourages little boys and just little kids to act and dress like gentlemen and little ladies, and I totally love her vibe! If you've ever felt like you're trying to do all the things that everyone says that you're supposed to do and how you're supposed to do it but feel like #allthethings are not working…. Then you’ll love this conversation.
So what I love about this conversation is that Alicia unapologetically embraces doing what works for her. She has tapped into the power of what creativity looks like for her, she’s embracing her unique ability to create with guidelines but then find her way and create her way of doing things. She’ll share what this looks in life and business and how it’s helped her to create a beautiful business that is unique, one of a kind, and truly taps into her creative zone of genius. So if you want to tap into your own zone of genius, maybe you can listen and tune in to this episode and be inspired and empowered to step into your unique gifts more.

As an introduction to our new collaboration series with The Handmade Seller Magazine, it was totally an absolute must to feature the woman and founder behind the community, Dani. Dani describes herself as always being artsy, crafty, and having a love of the handmade industry. From there she thought, what if we just had a place where everybody could share their stories and you could say that’s where the makings of the Handmade Seller Magazine started. It's like a monthly piece of comfort, that you can open every month and drink with your favorite cup of tea and read about other handmade sellers who are doing what you want to do.
