Four young New Brunswick musicians are turning heads with their focus on traditional fiddle tunes. The Lumber Jills are releasing their first CD in Moncton this weekend. Host Vanessa Vander Valk speaks with fiddler Martha Pitre and the band's artistic director, Stacey Read.

The New Brunswick Museum offers people affected by flooding a guide to cleaning photographs, pictures and other heirlooms. Conservator Claire Titus said it's best to clean, or even freeze certain items right away, to avoid issues with mould.

There's a bird in the province so unusual, even birder Alain Clavette hasn't seen it before. It's called a Say's Phoebe and Clavette spoke with Julie Steevens, who noticed the bird in her yard in Keswick Ridge. Usually, the bird is seen in Western Canada.

A collection of diaries at the provincial archives provide a rare insight into daily life in New Brunswick during the early 1900s. The diaries were kept by a woman in the Cambridge Narrows area. Provincial archivist Fred Farrell showed her entries to host Vanessa Vander Valk.

The 20th edition of the Frye Festival is underway in Moncton. One of this year's big draws is Montreal-based novelist, short story writer and essayist Heather O'Neill. On Saturday, she'll be speaking about sexuality in literature.

UNICEF is hosting a series of summits across Canada, asking young people to weigh in on issues of isolation, and a lack of support for children and youth in their communities. 17-year old Samantha Walsh of Riverview was one of the participants at the first summit, which was held in Moncton this week.
