Students at St. Thomas University are collecting clothes for women at the New Brunswick Women's Correctional Centre in Miramichi. The program is called STUnningly Successful: A Reintegration Initiative. Professor Susan Reid said the clothes help incarcerated women with attending court and reintegrating into the community at the end of their sentence.

In 2016, 29-year-old Steven Harel was struck and killed by a train when his motorized wheelchair got stuck in the crossing at Robinson Street in Moncton. Now, the Transportation Safety Board is calling for safety improvements to railway crossings. Harel's mother, Diane Harel, said she welcomes the recommendations.
