This program will discuss Sickle Cell Disease. Learners should learn about the challenges for people with sickle cell disease to obtain primary care, especially the challenges around the transition from pediatric to adult care. Learners will also learn about preventative, acute, and chronic care topics important for primary care physicians caring for individuals with sickle cell disease. Learners will also learn about the pathophysiology of sickle cell disease, disease modifying treatments, and management of chronic pain.
