Welcome to 2024 and another great episode of the Sing Second podcast. We bring you the stories and happenings at the Naval Academy and the Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation.
History was made last week with the assumption of command for VADM Yvette Davids as the first-ever female Superintendent at the Naval Academy. We break it down and bring you some highlights of the ceremony.
A new year means a renewed effort to go out and meet our graduates, chapters and parents clubs where they are. The EVP of Engagement and Comms at AA&F, TJ Grady '96, joins us to detail the engagement roadshow coming in 2024. First stop - West Coast. TJ also discusses his priorities for the new year and what it's like being the parent of a plebe.
Our Alumni Business feature is a good one! Scott Sloan '01 is the President and CEO of StratasCorp Technologies. He tells us about his time at USNA, some 9/11 memories and what his company brings to the fight for national security. StratasCorp is a new sponsor of Sing Second!
We also chat about Jacob Busic, his transfer to UCLA and whether athletes should get extra time and extra seasons at USNA in the event of injury or hardship.
That and more on Sing Second...brought to you by ProMD Health in Annapolis, Scott Schuetter '00 and the Shrek Realty Crew, and StratasCorp Technologies.
