  • This One Thing Can Wreck Your Business Before Your Start STS #010
    Transcript:
Hey everyone, welcome back to the Smash system podcast. I’m your host, Nino Prodan. And in this episode, I want to talk about the one thing that will kill your business before it starts. And that one thing is expectations. Yeah, it’s kind of weird. What expectations Yeah, no kidding. When you’re starting off, you want to keep your expectations low. In fact, you want to just throw them out. What you want is goals. What you want is something to aim at. But I’ll tell you one thing if you have expectations of what you’re going to do in such and such amount of time, and you don’t meet those expectations, guess what? You’re gonna quit If you don’t quit the first time you don’t meet those expectations, it’ll happen soon after, because every time you don’t meet those expectations, it’s another stressor on you. It’s another thing that tells you that you can’t do this. Well, you can do this, but you don’t know what you don’t know. So how do you know when you’re going to get this done? How do you know when you’re going to be able to replace your income from your nine to five job with the business you’re building, you don’t know when but you know that you’re going to do it. So set the goal, but don’t set the expectation. start focusing on the first step that you need to take and start taking it, put it in practice. Start practicing. If you’re not good at something that you need to do for your business, then start practicing it almost it’s one of your superpowers, there’s going to be a lot of things that you’re not good at, and that’s okay. It’s alright. Not to be good at it when you start. So how do you get better, you start to practice, you practice and then you measure and then you rework how you’re going to practice and make it a more Practice, and then practice some more. The next thing you know, you’re not just good, you’re fucking great. There’s a lot of people out there telling you that you have to set a specific goal with a specific amount of time. Well, yes, that’s good for really, really short term things, really small things. Like I always talk about the next step. But if it’s for the whole thing, throw that all out. It’s all bullshit. Because it’s just a code word for expectations. And expectations sets you up for too much stress. And stress is the mind killer, it will stop your productivity, it will stop your creativity. So I say fuck that. Stop putting so much pressure on you. Smash the system, start enjoying what you’re doing. If your skills aren’t good enough, then start to build them up, start to practice them. Once you get enough skill, you will start to enjoy it. And this next thing will set you up to make this happen. And that’s making the decision to make it happen. But it’s not just oh yeah, I’m going to do this It, you will make this happen. You must believe that this will happen. It is an absolute, you must be absolute in your decision. And what what is it that you’re going to make happen? Well, that’s a decision that you have to make. And you must define this. define this dream that you want to live. define it fully, explicitly once you want, and then commit fully and be absolute in that decision. After you make the decision. Start taking the steps start putting into action, and what steps you may ask. Well, right now, I’ll tell you what, first thing you that you need to do is start defining your dreams. Get to work now start writing it down. Start writing down every single detail, what your life is going to look like, how you’re going to be, what’s your outlook on the world? Who are the people that are close to you? What’s your date? A day look like write all this out, set it in stone, because this is absolute. So

  • Getting Clear to Stop the Fear STS #009
    Transcript:
Welcome back, everybody. This is the Smash system podcast. I’m your host, Nino Prodan. And in this episode, I want to talk about getting clear to stop the fear. Fear holds us back from achieving our dreams, it stops us from taking the steps that we need to take. So I want to ask you, do you ever have any of the following? Do you procrastinate? Do you feel tense for no reason? You stop progressing forward because you need everything to be perfect before you move forward. In other words, are you a perfectionist? But does that perfectionism stop you from actually doing things? Do you overthink things? Do you keep trying to do research to figure out where you have to start or what you have to do next but not really doing anything just you keep trying to learn more trying to learn what you need to do. Do you feel antsy and like want to get away want to get up from your desk want to move wanna just fall down a YouTube hole and just watch YouTube all day, do you want to do anything but the work that you want to do? Do you get distracted by other things? Or do you keep trying to find the next big thing without sticking with what you’re working on now long enough for it to start to work? Well, if you have any of these problems, there’s a good chance that all you need is to have a little more clarity about what you want, and how to do it. And what I’ll be doing today is giving you some questions to help you gain that clarity. That way you can continue to move forward towards dreams. All right, you might want to write these questions down or maybe even go into the show notes and copies the copy these down. But just go through these and answer these. Help yourself gain some clarity. All right, here we go. Who do you want to be? Why do you want this? Why do you have this desire Who do you want this for? How will this help them? What’s in it for you? What do you want in life? Who will benefit from your work? How will they benefit? How will you deliver this? And why do you want to serve them? What does success look like? How will you make success happen? What will you have to learn? What will you have to learn first? What weaknesses do you have? Do you need to overcome the weaknesses? Or will you have to get others to help you? What strengths do you have? How can you use these strengths to accomplish your goals? Who do you need to become How do you keep yourself accountable? Who can help you remain accountable? How can you keep track of your accountability? And who can you use to inspire you? Who do you not want to be? What Shouldn’t you do? What habits Do you need to replace? What habits should you create to replace those habits that you want to replace? Well, that’s it for today. So I hope that this helps you push past that fear and get moving and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.

  • How to Find Resources to Start STS #008
    Transcript:
Hey, welcome back to The Smashing system podcast. I’m your host, Nino Prodan. And in this episode, I want to talk about resources. It’s a question I hear a lot people ask me, How do I get started if I don’t have the resources? And I answer that with a question. What if the founders of Apple thought that while they were working in their parents garage would they have ever started if they thought about the resources they didn’t have? Don’t look at where your idols are. Now, don’t look at where your heroes are now, not where the people that you want to emulate are today. You want to look at where they started, find out where they started and start there. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect to start, you just have to start. Create a vision of what problem you’re going to solve and who you’re going to serve. And then figure out the first step that you need to accomplish that and start doing it. You can’t wait until you have it all figured out. You can’t wait until you have everything in place. If you wait until then you’ll never start. It’s all about starting now. It’s not about the resources you have. It’s about being resourceful. Don’t focus on what you don’t have. Focus on what you do have focused on what you can do with what you have. If you don’t have money, but you have time, use that time. If you have money, but you don’t have time, then use that money. get high quality equipment, get people to do the work for you. Just get started. If you feel like what you’re doing isn’t going to be good enough. Ask yourself is perfection. Just fear to telling you that you’re not good enough. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. People may say yes, they may say no. But don’t be afraid of it. If they think you’re being needy or self serving, because you ask them to help you. Well, that’s their problem. That’s their thoughts. One you can’t read their thoughts to, you can’t own their thoughts. The only thoughts that you can own are your own. Only you have control, or you only have control of what you think. You can’t control what other people think. So stop taking possession of that you’re only disempowering yourself. I want you to know, you can do this. You can take the first steps. Figure out the first step and then take it. Keep moving forward. Figure out the next step. Take it be come across a challenge. Something that’s difficult. Don’t think of it as a challenge. Don’t think of it as a hurdle. Think of it as a puzzle. Try to figure out a way to solve it. Put it to yourself as a question. How can I do this? You’ll be amazed at how resourceful your brain is. When it stops looking at things as problems and starts looking at them as puzzles. Your brain loves questions. So give it questions to answer. Well, that’s about it for me. So I hope you can put this to use and I will talk to you tomorrow.

  • Use Motivation to Create Momentum STS #007
    Transcript:
Hey everyone, welcome to the smash a system podcast. I’m your host, Nino Prodan. And in this episode, I want to talk about motivation. And the motivation killers and fillers the things that fill you fill your motivation up. One of the first things is, being tough on yourself is a total killer. Think about it, you’re trying to do this, to get people to stop telling you what to do. Stop being authoritative towards you. So why do it yourself? You know, you’re working to smash the system. So why recreate it in yourself, build yourself up, don’t tear yourself down. Another killer is being overwhelmed. There’s a few reasons this happens. If you’re looking at the end picture of something and seeing it is too big to achieve. You need to break down your tasks. Break it down into little itty bitty steps that you can take right Now, break it down into next steps. That way, you don’t have to worry about what the step will be next week or whatever. Start taking the steps now and build momentum. Another reason is you might feel like, you can’t do anything you feel disempowered, but I’ll tell you break a big test down into small steps and start taking them. Don’t place an expectation for the results that you get from doing this work. Just do the work. Don’t worry about what you’re going to get from it. build yourself up. Another thing that makes you overwhelmed is focusing on making everybody else happy. And I’ll tell you right now, it’s time to make yourself happy. Look out for yourself. build yourself up, and then you can be there for everybody else. Don’t beat yourself down trying to make everybody happy. I promise you two things. One, you can’t make everybody happy. And two, if you do Try to make everybody happy, you’re not going to get anything from it. Another motivation killer is focusing on tasks focusing on the doing. If you focus on how bad something is, say like washing the dishes, and how much you hate washing the dishes and how it feels gross or dries out your hands or any of that. Then you’re focusing on the wrong thing. Focus on the results of the task, focus on how it’ll feel to have a clean kitchen, how it will look to not have any dishes in the sink. Focus on how you’ll be providing a clean environment for your loved ones. Or another thing is to think about the smile on the face of your significant other when they walk in and see all the dishes done. And here’s a hack for that. If you’re having trouble cleaning dishes, and really can’t see a result, ask them a favor for the next week. Just thank you for doing the dish. Tell them you’re you’re working on it and he need it. So you can be happy doing it. And then when they do thank you for it and they smile at you focus on that smile. Now one filler is to think about the big picture. What will be the impact of you doing this task? will be the impact on your life, what will be the impact on the world? What will be the impact on the people you love? Think about what these small steps will lead up to, in the end. What what big thing are you creating out of taking these small steps? Like I said before, in a previous podcast, small things add up to huge things. So what’s that big thing? focus on that? Future pace it, think about what it’s going to be like in the future. After you’ve done all this work. Who are you going to be how are you going to see the world after you put in all this work after you put in all the practice What’s the reward in the end, focus on that. And if you don’t have a clear enough picture of it, write it out, write out the picture exactly as you want it to be. That way you can focus on it, you can imagine it in your mind. Another filler is to stop fooling yourself into thinking everything’s okay. Because if everything’s okay, why are you here? Now

  • Choices & The Stories That Come with Them STS #006
    Transcript:
Hey everyone, welcome back. This is the Smash assistant podcast with your host, Nino Prodan. And today I want to talk about the decision you’re going to make this all starts with a decision. Are you going to do it or are you not going to do it? It’s made within you inside your brain. And the reason I want to start here is because this is the foundation for everything. It’s like the suspension for your car. If your suspension isn’t working, then the first bump you hit is going to make car fall apart. So it’s really essential, because there’s going to be some bumps along the road. But if you’re prepared mentally if you, if you have the right mindset, that bump is just going to be another part of life, something that you might even look back on finally. But that’s exactly what stops people from following their dreams. They stop at the first bump. If they’re not prepared, that first bump is like an earthquake. And instead of being able to absorb the shock, and keep moving, they just fall over. And the way we do this is by telling ourselves stories, their stories that empower us and make us able to withstand those bumps. And then there’s the stories that tell us that we tell ourselves that make it so those bumps are so catastrophic that we can can’t withstand them and we move on to something else. But I’m here today to tell you that it’s just a story you’re telling yourself. It’s just a story that we tell ourselves whether or not something’s good or bad. Whether or not it’s right or wrong, whether or not it’s who I am or who I don’t want to be. They’re all stories that we tell ourselves. And we can guide those stories to help us become who we want to be to help us live the lives that we want to have. But first, you have to start identifying them. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Oh, that’s not who I am. I can’t do that. That’s not me. Or something you might tell yourself to yourself. Oh, I’m just not good enough to do that. Oh, I just, I don’t know enough. I can’t do that. Oh, I don’t have the resources for that or I don’t have enough money to do that. Or I’m afraid to do that. So I want to ask you, how many of those stories how many of those things that you say to yourself, stop you from living the life that you want to live? It’s not about what’s comfortable. It’s about what you want in life. Do you really want a life without somebody telling you what to do? Well, it’s up to you to make it happen. And you can I know you want to do this because you’re here right now. I believe in you. I believe you could do all of this. You have the power to do this. You have the intelligence. Now I asked you do you have the will to do this? Will you put up with not knowing everything will you put up with not being good enough and then learning how to do it? Will you grow as a person? It’s not who I am now, but it’s who I will be. Your brain has the ability to constantly change to rewrite itself. So at this moment, you have the ability to change your life to change who you are, to who you want to be. Every single moment of the day, you can do this. So I asked you, will you do it? It’s not a big leap. I’ll tell you right now. It’s very, very small steps every single time. And all you have to do is just keep making them. Start rewriting the stories first. Know that you’re telling yourself a story, acknowledge it, understand it, and then think about why you’re telling yourself that story. Then, ask yourself is that story serving you if it’s not then rewrite it. You have the ability to Oh, that’s not me. Yes, that’s not you right now. Because you’re not where you want to be. But when you take the steps to do the work, that’s not me will turn into that

  • So, how do you smash the system STS #005
    Transcript:
Welcome back, everybody, this is a smash the system podcast. I’m your host, Nino Prodan. And in this episode, we’re going to talk about the how how are you going to do these changes? How are you going to make this change in your life and bring these changes to your life? I talked about the first part of it yesterday. It’s to get your time in order once you get your time in order, and you got to start slowly building your skills, building your mindset. Everything happens slowly. If you try to do too much at once you get overwhelmed and you give up. Do not overwhelm yourself. Do not think you can take the whole pie and eat it all at once. Because as you soon as soon as you do that, you’re going to realize that there’s another pie right in front of you. And maybe maybe you can stuffed that pie in your mouth. Eat that whole thing. And guess what, there’s another one. can’t keep up the pace. Make the commitment to start small. Start slowly, build yourself up, can’t lift 500 pounds your first time in the gym. And if you can, you’re a genetic freak. But seriously, you got to build up to it. That’s where people go wrong all the time. They try to make these monumental shifts in their lives, but they never build up the endurance to be able to do it. It’s not all about just staying motivated. It’s about building a system to create sustainability. It’s about understanding your talents. It’s about understanding what you’d like to do, what you don’t like to do what you need to learn, and then putting that together in a way that works for you. We’re going to do this together. We’re going to do it slowly. We’re going to do it every day. And doing that it’s going to change your brain. Yeah, you’ll need motivation, but motivation only lasts so long. Build the system to sustain that motivation to sustain the momentum that you build. To continue building momentum, to continue building skills to work towards doing what you like to do not what you need to do. Yes, there’s going to be some times where you’re just going to have to suck it up and push forward. But you know what? You’re going to be all right. Once you realize why you’re doing it, once there’s purpose behind what you’re doing, takes off some of the load, no longer carrying 1000 pounds, it’s 100. And you know what, I’ll be here with you five days a week, I’ll carry 50 of that for you. You just need to work on putting the reps in, to help your brain adjust to this new way of thinking. It might seem hard now, but don’t worry about where you’re going. Just think about what’s the next step you need to take. That’s it. That’s all you have to worry about is the next step. And after you take that step, then think about the next step. And after you’re done with that step, then Think about the next one. You don’t need to plot the whole course now, you’ll get to that point. I promise you, you will. But right now, you just need to start taking the steps. Take the steps with no expectation of a result. make that commitment now. We’ll build the road together.

  • When should you do this STS #004
    Transcript:
Hey everyone, I want to welcome you back to the Smash the system podcast. I’m your host, Nino Prodan. And in this episode I want to talk about when when are you going to do all this magnificent stuff with your life? And how are you going to fit into your day. I know working a nine to five you got to commute to work, you got to come back you got to get ready for work. If you got kids, you got to get them ready for school and get them to school. If they’re young, good luck. I hope you have help. And then when you get home you got to cook possibly clean then get the kids ready for bed. Get them to bed. Then you got to think, Oh yeah, that’s right. I need to breathe. When is that time to breathe? Don’t wait until you’re retired to breathe. Because that was the secret where people out and they don’t live much longer after they retire. Oh, that’s not happening anymore. And why wait? Why wait until you retire to live your life. I’ll tell you what, I’ll do this podcast five days a week. And I’ll keep it short. I’m not going to take a lot of time out of your life. But what I want you to do is take an hour, an hour a day, that’s it, and work on this. Everything’s not going to come together next week, next month, but if you put in the work, the right work, not trying to go for the next best thing or get rich quick schemes. You put in the work consistently. You’re going to create this for yourself. You’re going to create this for your future. A little time now is going to give you a ton of time later. One step at a time. All those little steps add up to a lot I promise you think about leasing a car. You think, Oh yeah, 12,000 miles, I don’t really drive that far to work every day. Make sure you don’t take any road trips, you know, everything’s going to be alright. And then the mileage starts adding up everyday to back from work to work. Maybe the grocery store, and all those things add up. And after a year, you’re wondering how the hell did I get to 20,000 miles an 8000 miles over, because all those little things add up over time. One hour a day. If you work one hour a day, for 365 days a year. That’s almost two months of working a nine to five, you get two months of work. So that one hour a day really adds up really fast. Other question of when is when when do I start? Start now start Today, and if you want, you can start right now I’ll give you a link to get your time in order. Check it out on the podcast website and make that when a commitment, that commitment as a meeting with yourself a meeting with your destiny, make that commitment today, and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.

  • Why should we smash the system STS #003
    Transcript:
Hey everyone, welcome back to the Smash system podcast. I’m your host, Nino Prodan. And in this episode, I want to talk about why why smash the system? Why is it that you want to do this? Well, for me it started when I just I felt like I had something wrong. Something was wrong with me. something wasn’t right. I felt like I was carrying around in a visible weight around me around with me all the time. And I didn’t know why. I was depressed but I didn’t understand why. And now I do. I understand that my whole being was crying out to me screaming out to me, telling me that I wasn’t living my life. And it was ending one day at a time that I wasn’t living up to the dreams that I had when I was younger. And when I listened to that voice, I realized that I didn’t want to be held down anymore. I didn’t want to be stifled from being who I truly am. I wanted to empower myself not rely on somebody not rely on a business to give me employment, not rely on my manager to approve my time off. I want to set an example for the kids in the next generation. Let them know that their power is theirs to take. I was tired of just getting by I wanted to provide for my family, to give my love everything that she wanted, and experience the life that she wants to make sure that my parents don’t have to worry about retirement, and to not give a shit whether or not I’m going to get social security. I want that all for you. I want you to live your life now and not wait for return. fireman, retire when you want, not retire at all. It doesn’t matter. It’s your life. You can live it the way you want. rely on yourself. And not only that, empower yourself. Empower yourself to true freedom, where you can be where you want. You can provide for yourself. And you can do what you want with the time that you have. It’s your time, your life, live it the way that is true to you, that makes you feel alive every day. not have to worry about waking up to an alarm clock when you don’t want to having a fight through traffic every day. Why spend your life that way? Start taking the steps now. I’m not asking you to give something up. I’m asking you to have something more. More for yourself more for your loved ones. More life for everyone.

  • What is smash the system STS #002
    Transcript:
I want to welcome you back to the Smash system podcast. I’m your host, Nino Prodan. And in this episode, I want to talk to you about the what what is the system that we want to smash. These days, there’s lots of complaints about our school systems, about the inequality of income. Well, that’s because our system is antiquated. It is old. It’s made to create worker bees. It’s not made to create people who can create the systems made for obedience. To make sure you’re on time to make sure you follow Follow the directions. Not that you create the directions yourself, not that you create anything. You don’t think for yourself, you just follow directions. I don’t know about you, but for me, I feel like I grew out of that. When I became an adult, when I had the ability to choose for myself, to provide for myself, I didn’t need somebody telling me what to do and how to do it. That was the promise that we all had when we became adults. And I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the economy’s changing. Things aren’t the same anymore. We buy things online. But there’s something happening. I don’t know if you’ve noticed all the microbreweries everywhere throughout the country. Although art has been restricted in schools and not taught. People are finding a way to bring art into the world. And art isn’t just about music. It’s not about paintings, and sculptures. It’s about bringing the Magic out in yourself. Doing that thing that makes you feel alive. I mean, really isn’t that what life is about is feeling alive. The system is made to keep you chasing after the carrot. And if you don’t run fast enough, they’re gonna hit you with a stick. Well, I say those days are gone. It’s time. The internet has provided us with a new economy, a new way of doing business. And you need to take the opportunity now, while it’s early, to take full advantage of it. Take full advantage of living your life. Go beyond just self employment and create financial independence. for yourself of having people tell you what to do, and how to do it and when to wake up in the morning. spend your days with the people you love. Travel the world live your dreams. The opportunity is there now. to smash the system to take your life back. I understand it’s a scary leap to go from nine to five into becoming a business owner. But you don’t have to leap you can take it step by step. I want to guide you, so you can do it without taking a leap blind.

  • The Whos of Smash The System STS #001
    Transcript:
Welcome everyone. This is the semester system podcast. And I’m your host, Nino Prodan. And this is the first episode and I’d like to introduce myself, tell you a little bit about me. And also talk about a little bit about who this is for. So for me, for the better part of the last 25 years, I worked a nine to five job and it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t really good. And for most of the time, it seemed like I was just numb. Most of my life was just a gray space. Between vacations and other big events, otherwise my life was just ending one day at a time. I sat at a desk did work that really didn’t mean much to me. At the end of the day, I didn’t go home thinking I changed the world with what I did today. And then I spent so much time getting to and from work. It was almost like a second job just to get there. And on top of it all, I was getting paid. Okay. But what was really happening is I was making somebody else rich. It’s a really give myself some money on the side. I would do side hustles I actually started small businesses, but it was really just me working. I was too afraid to actually do something bigger where I was an actual business owner, where it wasn’t just me working. But then in my nine to five job I struck gold Finally got the opportunity start working remotely. And at first, it wasn’t really that big of a deal, I would just work and then I would have time to do what I wanted during the day because I would work at night a lot. But then I started to notice something, I started to notice that I could actually hire somebody to do the most monotonous and tedious part of my job. So I outsourced about 90% of my job. And this gave me the time first to play a lot of tennis. But after that, I realized that this wasn’t going to last forever. And I started my own coaching practice my own business, a business that I want to grow, to be a business owner, not just solopreneur still trading my time for money. Well, my nine to five contract finally came to a close and I thought, now that I’m coaching, I have the freedom to work. Where I want, I don’t need to be in the United States. So I’m going to start traveling the world. And at first I thought this is a great idea. This is a awesome opportunity, I finally get to live my dreams, my dreams of traveling the world that I’ve had for over 20 years since I did a backpacking trip to Europe. But then reality hit, I was still trading my time for money. And not only that, when I traded my time for money had to be arranged with somebody else, because at the moment, I was still trading my coaching service on a one to one basis with other people. And at first it worked. We were in South America, the time zones lined up the internet’s might be spotty, but that didn’t pose as much of a problem as the timezone thing. But then we traveled to Europe. And I’ll tell you, I’m not going to serve somebody very well on a coaching call at four o’clock in the morning. I’m not going to be able to provide the Best service for people, the thing that I expect out of myself to serve people at my highest at my best. So I needed something, another way to free myself from that time exchange for money. And that’s when I started to really understand how to incorporate marketing into my business, how to set up systems to really free myself to find true freedom. And that’s what I started this podcast to do was to share that with you. Because you’re somebody that’s working a nine to five and wants to free themselves wants to free themselves, of somebody telling them what to do have somebody having control of your life. You want the freedom to do what you want. You want to have the time that is yours in your hands to be able to spend time with Who you want when you want to have the money to do what you want, and also the freedom to do it where you want.
