Hola, Sneakers! I’m still having trouble with the numbering for these shows. It’s hard to believe we are in the three hundreds. I mean, three hundred!
Anyway, Ian and Dave are all alone this week and you know what that means! That’s right: poor, unadulterated goofiness.
In the spirit if which, Ian and Dave return to normal; remember Don Herron; get bulk erased; talk local book shortcomings; beat Tintin; don’t hat the game; introduce Dave’s Communist Sports Corner; have Winter Olympics hi-jinks; celebrate animal athletes; get competitive; wear a WalkHorse; have thoughts about Black Panther; discuss the science of vibranium; take a bad passport picture; pity the apple maggot; pillow fight tarantulas; reminisce about the Brady Bunch; admit they are old; rip off some characters; fight with Sgt. Rock; look at super Speedos; watch Marvel’s Boyhood; discover Dave’s a pro; and, finally, end on a cliffhanger…
    Thanks for listening.
Here’s that video about Wakanda’s impossible economy that Dave mentioned:

    Hola, Sneakers!
We had some issues that affected our sound this week: Ian’s office was without power to the outlets so, although we had lights, there was no power for the mixer, digital recorder or the condenser mics. We were able to figure out a work-around, but, never having done the show this way before, there were some inevitable sound level issues and we apologize.
That being said, we were lucky enough to have Kathleen Gros drop by for a visit today. Kathleen, Ian and Dave talked hairsnubs; long links; musical booksellers; freezing to death in Ian’s office; getting con ready; merchandising skills; impostor syndrome; ambitious graffiti; parodies and parodies of parodies; Dave is weird; a dumb prank; Kathleen’s back story; Ian’s good deed; Kathleen’s narrative compulsion; top werewolf movies; the pile of garbage that is Teen Wolf; Kathleen’s new spin off show involving unusual Jello recipes: London Fog, and a savoury balsamic vinegar and apple Jello – as well as some special cookies; jello molds and retro cooking; viral cartoons, and, finally, an abrupt endi
    Thanks for listening.
Here are your Kathleen Gros links: her website and her web series Lunar Maladies. Enjoy!
If you’ve never heard them, here are some Bonzos for Dave:

Hola, Sneakers! Welcome to another – probably late (sigh…) episode of Sneaky Dragon.
This week on the show: surprise guest; the history of the pool noodle, shark bait, vampire investment plans; waste products; long waits; surprised by a guest; cat facts and fat cats; vegan cheese tasting; Nexus past; Kat Burglar; boo to colourists; confounded by Veggie Tales; what is black garlic for; sad, rice cooker-less living; reducing Tucson embarrassment; Nina loves rocks; no rock puns zone; indecent whales’ teeth; remaking childhood favourites; problems with Star Trek: Next Generation; and, finally, hot dog!
    Thanks for listening.
Oh, and here’s some information provided by Nina:
Here’s a picture of the Sonoran, the spicy hot dog Nina ate in Tucson, AZ:

The fantastic and fantastical list of names for Super Famicom’s 1994 game Fighting Baseball:

Nina’s Bobson Dugnutt tribute shirt (as well as her other designs) can be found here.
Here is a picture of some of the gems, minerals and/or rocks that Nina saw at the Rock and Gem Show:

And the smoky quartz she actually ended up buying:

(You can tell she’s pretty proud of it.)
And finally here is a picture of the “cheese” Nina bought at the Blue Heron Cheese Shop:

Hola, Sneakers! Welcome to the dragon’s lair!!!
Well, when I thought of that I’d thought it would be cool, but now that it’s written down…blech.
And speaking of blech, Ian and Dave recorded the super secret personal Sneaky Dragon podcast for Jason Dedrick, last week’s contest winner and, yes, Dave’s cousin. (Thank you all for not writing in with accusations of favouritism.) It was a boozy episode and Ian and Dave may have still been a touch drunk when they started recording this episode.
It’s the only explanation for talking about how to improve our contests on air; inviting people to invite us to dinner; discussing Black Panther and the problem with franchises like Kingsmen, Spider-Man, Kick-Ass, and Mission Impossible; Dave’s concerns about Black Lightning; the podcast ending with spinning question marks; Dave defending buying DVDs; Ian’s Superbowl half-time history; Dave’s unnecessary  defense of Tom Cruise; Ian’s feelings about the predictability of modern stand-up comedy; Dave wondering if scenes need mentors to thrive; Ian’s weirdness: Dave’s computer file deletion disaster; Ian being a duplicatophile; a not-so-timely Iron Fist rant; Dave mixing up Black Lightning with White Lightning; Ian singing a wrap-up song; their not actually ending the show, but speaking for a further forty minutes with a bad parenting after show special; finding strength in podcasting; and, finally, Ian propositions listeners to rub Dave the wrong way.
    Thanks for listening.
PS. We will keep you up-to-date on what Jason plans to do with his own episode of Sneaky Dragon. Probably he’ll just throw it away.
Here are a couple of video essays that help to explain Dave’s high opinion of the Mission Impossible franchise:

Hola, Sneakers! Welcome to Sneaky Dragon! I hope you’re excited to hear the contest draw and find out who won the Personal Podcast Contest! Until then, we have the strange: Ian posits a fictional character to be an actual historical personage; the odd: some alternate podcast commercials; and the usual: free advertising for non-paying companies. (As someone once said, we’re terrible at promotion.)
We also have: hairiness; horrifying Lou Grant epiphanies; Dave’s guide to shaving; our Netflix recommendations: glowing: Dark, effusive: Black Lightning, mildly enthusiastic: Dirk Gently; Dave has trouble with jokey-joke books, and Ian has trouble with jokey-joke TV shows; there are problems with The X-Files; there are problems with Kong: Skull Island; Vancouver is crazy actor hot spot; Dave gets show-mnesia; Ian has more things to say about cereal mascots; he explains his Bam-Bam theory; Dave reads a heavy, but heartening Tweet thread; you should read to your kids; you should talk to your kids; your kids are smarter than you think; questions about the dwarf fatality index; the Personal Podcast contest goes badly; a long segment we’ve titled: “It’s a small world, but minds are even smaller”; and, finally, Dave says he’s wrong.
    Thanks for listening.
And thanks to all our great listeners for taking part in our Personal Podcast contest. Sorry if you didn’t win, but we appreciate all the great questions and topic ideas!
