  • Sneaky Dragon Episode 236

Hi, Sneakers! Welcome to Episode 236 of Sneaky Dragon – the show that keeps on giving…people gas? I guess…
Anyhoo…this week on the show: Ian is having a birthday and Dave says, “Meh”; Airport redux – just when you thought you were safe from mediocrity, Ian returns with more Airport films: some good; one bad; Dave visits Kamloops and spends a lot of time in thrift stores, finds the world’s hippest record store, and becomes a lonely man; we recommend Manben again – well worth seeing; and, finally, Ian brings in a music game involving song lyrics and radio hits – Ian does very well and Dave does very badly, but what the heck. This may well have been Ian’s favourite show…ever.
    Thanks for listening.

Ciao, Sneakers! We can’t stop making this show and you can’t stop listening to it.
Well, you could, but we don’t recommend it.
This week on the show: it’s time to spring back for Sneaky Dragon; we want your answers; old-time phone calls; phoneys, foneys and boneys; audience attention grabber: the Aldergrove Telephone Museum featuring the Wichita Lineman’s tools; answering machine messages: what happened?; living up to your name; Ian is obsessed with the Airport movies; Ian finds some cheap airfare for flying over Canada; museum mash ups disappoint; Ian discovers Haida manga (which is apparently a thing); er…that’s it. Sorry, Sneakers, I was having a lot of trouble with the sound on our editing software and couldn’t get to the end of this week’s episode (or couldn’t be bothered?). If you want to know what else we talked about you’ll just have to listen! (But, hey, let me know if there are any glaring issues I missed!)
    And thanks for listening.

  • Sneaky Dragon Episode 229

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called Sneaky Dragon. Electric word Sneaky Dragon. It feels like forever and that’s a mighty long time. This week on the show: Dave is too loud; Ian remembers Canadian-only dessert treats; Dave solves the Cave Carson dilemma; Ian and Dave remember Prince: his motorcycle was purple; his appearance with the Muppets; his ruining Christmas; and, since the news was so fresh, a little death speculation (wrong, as it turns out). After Prince, there’s nowhere else to go but the Bible, so from the sacred to the profane, Ian and Dave discuss two new books: former guest Shannon Wheeler’s new book with Mark Russell Apocrypha Now! and Chester Brown’s newest Mary Wept Over The Feet Of Jesus so Dave can give a bumbling explanation of the Apocrypha and Ian can be confused by the Prodigal Son. And finally, Ian has a moral for us.
    Let’s go crazy!

Hello, Sneakers! Exciting news this week: we were joined by our good friend Branwyn Bigglestone! Discussed: Branwyn’s favourite show 227 starring the inimitable Jacquée; crossing the Borderline – featuring our new sketch comedy segment “Border Goofs”; shared sugar fasts; what the heck are accruals; reading Harry Potter and printing Harry Potter; wolf-riding elves; the rare sports nerd; Branwyn in her many comic character iterations; Branwyn’s vicariously exciting life; and, finally, we recommend…
