The story stars yours truly and some of my best friends as we soak in many of the sights and sounds of this now-iconic road trip, as well as having plenty of fun along the way!  For those who may now know, the North Coast 500 (NC500) is a 514 mile route which circumnavigates the north of Scotland, taking in some of the most stunning parts of the UK. 

It's a very popular trip to take, attracting people from all over the world.  I'll be posting a new chapter on YouTube every Tuesday night for the next 8 weeks, as well as your usual Saturday evening stories!

Ohhhhhhh I think if I was to choose a favourite of my own so far this would be it!  Aside from the story in my head being set in another of my favourite local spots (on Skye), I wanted to challenge myself with the audio! With a bit of editing trickery (I must disclose), I attempted to recreate the sounds of being underwater with the waves above... and this is the result. I must say, I'm rather pleased with it!   I personally find this ambience so incredibly relaxing.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I loved making it!

This week, I bring you a little story based on the weekend I've just had! I took a trip up towards Oban (west coast) with my better 3/4; we camped at Loch Awe for a night, then stayed in a gorgeous wee B&B for a well-earned getaway. Along the way, we stopped to climb hills behind Inveraray - a stunning little village with an immaculately kept (and still lived-in) castle as pictured.  If you every get the chance to visit Scotland, be sure to add here to your list of places to visit. All will be clear upon your arrival...

My imagination got totally lost whilst fantasising about building a little wooden cabin on one of the small islands on Loch Lomond, just our of Balmaha bay (pictured).  All of these stories are ways of exploring my own dreams and ideas, if I'm honest! Something a little different this week!  

I felt inspired to record and write a story based on the Jacobite steam train which runs a service between Fort William and Mallaig on the west coast of Scotland.  Some of you may know that it was this train which was used in the Harry Potter films as the Hogwarts Express and featured a famous shot of the Glenfinnan Viaduct (pictured). This story has an incredibly strong connection to Scotland, regardless of the associations with the film series!  I hope you enjoy the sounds of this wonderful steam train combined with the fictional tale loosely based on a journey aboard the Hogwarts Express!
