Scripture Meditation | Lectio Divina | Strength in Weakness | 2 Corinthians 12:7ā10 (NLT)
Download your FREE Unshakable JournalĀ here.
Is there a struggle, a weakness, or a burden youāve been asking God to take away?
But itās still there. It feels like itās lingering, and itās holding you back.
Youāre not alone.
The Apostle Paul felt the same way.
In this passage, Paul shares a deeply personal struggleāhis āthorn in the fleshāāand how God responded not by removing it, but by offering a deeper promise:
āMy grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.ā
In this weekās meditation, weāll slow down with 2 Corinthians 12:7ā10, reflecting on what it means to find unshakable strength not in ourselves but in God.
This is the eighth episode in our series: Unshakable: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. Each week, weāre meditating on Scripture that anchors us in Godās truth and helps us stand firm in every season.
In this meditation on Unshakable Strength in Surrender, youāll be invited to:
⢠Reflect on a place in your life where you feel weak or burdened
⢠Notice what God is saying to you through Paulās words
⢠Consider how God might be inviting you to trust Him more
⢠Rest in the truth that His grace is not only enoughāit is abundant
Your weakness is not the end of the story.
Itās the very place where Godās strength is most at work.

Meditation Passage | 2 Corinthians 12:7ā10 (NLT):
7 Even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.
8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away.
9 Each time he said, āMy grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.ā
So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
10 Thatās why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

John 8:31-36, NLT
31Ā Jesus said to the people who believed in him, āYou are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. 32Ā And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.ā
33Ā āBut we are descendants of Abraham,ā they said. āWe have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean, āYou will be set freeā?ā
34Ā Jesus replied, āI tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. 35Ā A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever. 36Ā So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

We all face spiritual battles. Some are loud and obvious. Others are subtle and wear us down over time. In either case, we were never meant to fight in our own strength.
In this weekās Scripture meditation,Ā we reflect onĀ Ephesians 6:10, 13ā17, where Paul gives us a powerful reminder: we are called toĀ stand firm, not because we areĀ strong, but because God is.
This isnāt a call to strive harder. Itās a call to be equipped. To recognize our vulnerabilities and take up the armor God provides so we can remain unshakable when the enemy attacks.
This is the fifth episode in our series: Unshakable: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. Each week, weāre turning to Scripture to help us rely on Godās strength and remain grounded in His truth.
In this meditation on Unshakable in Godās Power, youāll be invited to:

10Ā A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
13 Therefore, put on every piece of Godās armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of Godās righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey.
In fact, we were created to walk togetherāto encourage one another, to keep showing up, and to hold tightly to hope, especially when life gets hard.
In this weekās Scripture meditation, weāll slow down with Hebrews 10:23ā25, a passage that calls us to live with faith, love, and spiritual connection. The early believers faced hardship and pressure to turn away from Jesus. The writer of Hebrews reminded them thenāas weāre reminded nowāthat we need each other to stay strong.

We all long for stabilityāa life that canāt be easily shaken.
And yet, itās surprisingly easy to drift. Whether itās the constant stream of news, the demands of our to-do lists, the pull of peopleās opinions, or simply our own self-reliance, we can find ourselves slowly swayedāsometimes without even noticing it.
Psalm 1 offers us a better way.
It paints a beautiful picture of the person who delights in Godās Word: like a tree planted by streams of waterādeeply rooted, spiritually nourished, and steadily bearing good fruit.
In this Scripture meditation, weāll slow down and reflect on Psalm 1:1ā3, letting Godās Word re-center us and remind us where true blessing and strength come fromānot from following the crowd, but from following Him.
This is the third episode in our series: Unshakable: Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. Each week, weāre turning to Scripture to help us stand firm in faith, rely on Godās strength, and hold onto hope.

Scripture meditation invites us to slow down and listen for Godās voice, and today, weāll engage in Lectio Divina to reflect on our calling through Matthew 28:16-20.
God calls each of us to meaningful workāwork that fulfills us and furthers His Kingdom. But do we ever feel truly ready? The disciples wrestled with this, too. After His resurrection, Jesus gathered them on a mountain in Galilee. Some worshiped, some doubtedābut all were called.
Jesus didnāt wait for them to have everything figured out before sending them. Instead, He declared His authority, gave them a mission, and promised: "I am with you always."
As we meditate on this passage, weāll listen, reflect, and respond to Jesusā invitation. Consider:
Come, rest in His presence. You are never alone.

Matthew 28:16-20 NLT
Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped himābut some of them doubted!
Jesus came and told his disciples, āI have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.ā

Do your mistakes disqualify you from Godās calling? Can He still use you?
In this guided Scripture meditation, weāll step into Peterās restoration in John 21āa moment filled with grace, renewal, and love. After denying Jesus three times, Peter must have felt like a failure, wondering if he had lost his place in Godās plan. Maybe youāve felt that way too.
But Jesus wasnāt done with Peter. And He isnāt done with you.
As we meditate on this powerful encounter, youāll sit by the fire with Jesus, hear His words of restoration, and receive His love for you today.
Come, listen, and let Jesusās calling revive your heart.

The passage from this meditation is:
John 21:15-22, NLT
15Ā After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, āSimon son of John, do you love me more than these?ā
āYes, Lord,ā Peter replied, āyou know I love you.ā
āThen feed my lambs,ā Jesus told him.
16Ā Jesus repeated the question: āSimon son of John, do you love me?ā
āYes, Lord,ā Peter said, āyou know I love you.ā
āThen take care of my sheep,ā Jesus said.
17Ā A third time he asked him, āSimon son of John, do you love me?ā
Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, āLord, you know everything. You know that I love you.ā
Jesus said, āThen feed my sheep.
18Ā āI tell you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will dress you and take you where you donāt want to go.ā 19Ā Jesus said this to let him know by what kind of death he would glorify God. Then Jesus told him, āFollow me.ā 20Ā Peter turned around and saw behind them the disciple Jesus lovedāthe one who had leaned over to Jesus during supper and asked, āLord, who will betray you?ā 21Ā Peter asked Jesus, āWhat about him, Lord?ā
22 Jesus replied, āIf I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? As for you, follow me.ā
