Her work focuses on helping clients to upgrade old programming and release shame, in order to show up authentically. A lot of Lizzi's clients are women who were taught to fit the mold, check all the boxes and do all the “right” things - however, most realize they are still not completely satisfied.

Lizzi and I talk about how most women are taught to be performative in relationships and in sex. We also discuss how women get so caught up about appearing to have it "all together", that they forget to learn what they want and honor that.

• Develop a self-care checklist

• Take yourself on a date

• And find 3-5 things you like about your physical body every day for a week

• Don’t accept that things are “fine”

This week on the podcast, I have Emily Fenger, founder of Mindful Mamas Wellness, and her own real estate business, on to talk with me about how COVID allowed her to reflect on all of the jobs she's had and transition into something new.

Emily's background is in nonprofits, with a side of PR and marketing. She's held various positions with different companies, but COVID forced her let go and start over. Emily had dreamt of being an entrepreneur, but never actually thought it was something she could do. Since starting her own company, she has found so much pride and strength in stepping outside her comfort zone and creating her own terms of what work could be. All of her skills from her various positions have come in handy in order to build her own wellness programs for moms.

One of the most defining moments for Emily that prompted her to start this transition was watching her daughter play and wanting to make her daughter, as well as herself, PROUD.

Emily also discusses the concept of bringing yourself and your own personal style to your work, no matter what profession you are in. "As long as we bring ourselves with us, we leave our authentic footprint in anything we do."

Emily's best tip for anyone considering a career transition or starting a passion project is to find out what truly brings you joy and also, give yourself the permission to do the thing. "Whether it’s a traditional job or an alternative path - we only have this one life and it's very hard to ignore your soul’s purpose or calling".
