Bee venom has the potential to shift the ways we treat chronic illness. Humans have been using bees for over 10,000 years, and yet modern medicine has forgotten its powerful, healing benefits. Today we welcome the brilliant Kate Hinkens for a life-changing conversation on the synergistic medicine of the hive.*
Kate is the founder of Stinglab, an organization dedicated to the research and therapeutic application of honeybee intelligence for human and planetary health. Kate healed herself from a debilitating chronic Lyme disease using bee venom and has now made it her mission to share the medicine of the bees with others.
Together we travel from the science behind bee venom to the spiritual depths of illness and healing.

Today we de-stigmatize different approaches to beauty and explore the art of aging gracefully with celebrity skincare expert, registered nurse, and facial rejuvenation artist Nousha Salimi.
Nousha started her journey in nursing and mental health when she was just 16, then landed a job working with a respected plastic surgeon in NYC, before moving to LA where she has excelled to become the gold standard in her industry and now supports a closed clientele of leaders in fashion, film, finance, and art.
In this conversation, Nousha answers all our questions about skincare, aging, which treatments to embrace, what to avoid, and more

This week we welcome Nitsa’s partner Brent Bolthouse in celebration of the masculine and fathers of all forms.
Brent is an American entrepreneur, event producer, and photographer. He’s the founder of The Bungalow Hospitality Group and the creator of Neon Carnival.
From adoption at birth, to struggling with addiction as a teen in Joshua Tree, getting sober at 16, accidentally shaping Hollywood nightlife in the 90s and 2000s, entrepreneurial roller coasters, becoming a father and now cocreating a life together-- our conversation is rich in love, vulnerability, humor and reflection.

Today we take on "Big Protein" and travel through the Andes Mountains, where generations of Inca wisdom takes seed in chocho, a magical bean which regenerates both people and the planet.
Our guide is the magnetic Ricky Echanique. Ricky is a fifth-generation Ecuadorian farmer and entrepreneur. As a former professional athlete, Ricky faced health and digestion issues that set him on a quest to find better forms of plant-based protein. This journey ultimately led him back home to Ecuador where he discovered Chocho, a nearly forgotten food, traditionally grown in rural, high altitude regions as a rotation crop, which turns out to be incredibly high in bio-available protein, amino acids, minerals, and more. In the years since, Ricky has built a powerful network of indigenous farmers and vertically integrated systems to share Chocho with the world through his company MIKUNA.

“Being a Champion is a Condition of the Heart”
We are honored to welcome a warrior for universal empowerment, Cesalina Gracie to SOUNDFOOD.
Jiu-jitsu visionary, Olympics host, entrepreneur and multi-hyphenate athlete, Cesalina hails from the legendary Gracie martial arts lineage. Today she joins us from Los Angeles, home base for Women in Power - Cesalina's school where she teaches the art and philosophy of jiu-jitsu to girls and women.
In May 2023 Cesalina made history for being the 8th Brazilian woman to summit Mount Everest -the world's highest mountain- during the deadliest season in the mountain's 102-year climbing history. She accredits her success to her jiu-jitsu training and mindset
In this episode Cesalina shares her journey of finding her own path within an esteemed martial arts family, how jiu-jitsu has taught her how to feel powerful and safe in any situation, including the most confronting, life threatening moments climbing Mount Everest, and why she is committed to sharing this methodology with others. We speak about the ripple effects of her mission: how teaching women self defense and healthy boundaries from a young age can inspire generations to discover their own inner strength and confidence, move with grace, from instinct to reflex, and into a champion state of mind.
Thank you Cesalina for sharing the deep strength of the feminine and your light with us!

Gather around our proverbial table for a deeply nourishing conversation about food, family, and creativity.
Our guest this week is holistic nutritionist and chef Sarah Britton who’s been publishing whole food recipes on her My New Roots since 2007. Our discussion touches upon the full spectrum of nourishment: beginning with Sarah’s childhood, her creative evolution in relationship to food, beauty, self care, working in professional kitchens like the esteemed NOMA, hosting Golden Circle Retreats in Bali and Tuscany, and how she was guided to write her books and grow her platforms.
Sarah shares her experience writing and shooting her first book while pregnant in Copenhagen, how she leans into her fine arts background to approach the dinner plate as a canvas of sorts, and why she has developed more kid-friendly, functional whole food meals for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you for feeding us in so many ways, Sarah!
