  • 117: Yoga, the Divine Feminine, and the Priestess Path: Sacred Embodiment, Shakti Energy, and Spiritual Practice | International Week of Yoga Day 6

Welcome to Day 6 of International Week of Yoga: Movement, Meditation, Spirit & the Divine Feminine.

This is a signature episode connecting yoga with the Divine Feminine, priestess work, goddess spirituality, sacred embodiment, and spiritual devotion.

Through breathwork, movement, meditation, Yoga Nidra, mantra, and Kundalini energy, yoga can become a priestess practice rooted in intention, reverence, and devotion.

This episode explores the Divine Feminine as intuition, creativity, compassion, receptivity, embodiment, wisdom, and sacred power. It also looks at the priestess path as devotion, service, ritual, healing, spiritual leadership, and connection to the Divine.

You will also hear about goddess connections including Shakti, Saraswati, Lakshmi, Parvati, Durga, and Kali, and how their energies can support a deeper spiritual yoga practice.

  • 116: Which Type of Yoga Is Right for You? | International Week of Yoga Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of International Week of Yoga: Movement, Meditation, Spirit & the Divine Feminine.

Not every yoga class is the same. Some practices are strong and flowing, while others are gentle, restful, devotional, meditative, or deeply accessible. If you have ever tried yoga and felt like it was not for you, it may simply mean that the style, pace, teacher, or environment was not the right fit.

Yoga is not one-size-fits-all. The right yoga practice should support your body and spirit rather than force you into something that does not feel right.

In this episode, Bertena discusses Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Somatic Yoga, Chair Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Kundalini Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Aqua Yoga, Trauma-Informed Yoga, and Bhakti-Based Yoga.

This episode is especially helpful for beginners, spiritual seekers, women on the Divine Feminine path, and anyone who wants yoga to feel more accessible, compassionate, and supportive.

    In This Episode, You’ll Explore

    • Why not every yoga class is the same
    • How to choose a yoga practice based on your body, energy, and season of life

  • 113: The 8 Limbs of Yoga Explained: A Spiritual Map for Living | International Week of Yoga Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of International Week of Yoga: Movement, Meditation, Spirit & the Divine Feminine.

In this episode, we explore the 8 limbs of yoga from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and how they offer a spiritual map for daily living. Many people think of yoga as physical postures or stretching, but the 8 limbs remind us that yoga is a complete path involving ethics, personal practice, posture, breathwork, turning inward, concentration, meditation, and spiritual union.

This episode explains each limb in a simple and practical way so you can understand how yoga applies both on and off the mat.

We also explore the idea of an optional modern “9th limb,” which can be understood as living yoga, embodiment, or integration. This is the practice of taking yoga into your everyday life through compassion, service, devotion, presence, and spiritual awareness.

Yoga is not only something we do. It is something we live.

    In This Episode, You’ll Explore

    • What the 8 limbs of yoga are
    • How the 8 limbs come from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
    • Why yoga is more than physical poses
    • Yama as ethical restraints and relationship with others
    • Niyama as personal observances and spiritual self-care
    • Asana as physical posture and preparation for meditation
    • Pranayama as breathwork and life force energy
    • Pratyahara as turning inward and withdrawing from distraction
    • Dharana as concentration and training the mind
    • Dhyana as meditation and deep inner awareness
    • Samadhi as union, bliss, and spiritual connection
    • How to practice the 8 limbs in everyday life
    • The optional 9th limb of living yoga, embodiment, and integration

    The 8 Limbs of Yoga

    1. Yama — Ethical Restraints
    2. How we live in relationship with others. Includes non-harming, truthfulness, non-stealing, moderation, and non-possessiveness.
    3. Niyama — Personal Observances
    4. How we care for ourselves spiritually. Includes cleanliness, contentment, discipline, self-study, and surrender to the Divine.
    5. Asana — Posture
    6. The physical practice of yoga, originally connected to preparing the body for meditation.
    7. Pranayama — Breathwork
    8. Working with life force energy through the breath.

    Optional 9th Limb: Living Yoga

A modern spiritual addition could be called living yoga, embodiment, or integration. This is the practice of taking yoga off the mat and into daily life through compassion, service, devotion, honesty, breath, boundaries, and presence.

    Spiritual Reflection

The 8 limbs remind us that yoga is not something we only do. It is something we live.

Yoga is not only a posture or a practice session. It is how we breathe, speak, listen, relate, focus, serve, surrender, and return to presence.

    Journal Prompt

Which limb of yoga do I already practice? Which one do I feel called to explore more deeply?

Use this prompt to notice where yoga is already present in your life and where it may be inviting you into deeper practice.

    Closing Practice

Choose one limb of yoga to practice intentionally today.

    You might choose:

    • Ahimsa: speak kindly to yourself
    • Satya: honor your truth
    • Santosha: practice contentment
    • Asana: move gently
    • Pranayama: take three slow breaths
    • Pratyahara: step away from outer noise

Welcome to Day 1 of International Week of Yoga: Movement, Meditation, Spirit & the Divine Feminine.

In this opening episode, we begin with one of the most important questions: What is yoga?

Yoga is often seen in modern culture as stretching, fitness, flexibility, or physical exercise. But the deeper meaning of yoga is much more sacred and expansive. The word yoga is often translated as union, connection, or yoking together. It is the practice of bringing together the body, breath, mind, spirit, and the Divine.

In this episode, Bertena introduces yoga as a spiritual, philosophical, and embodied practice. You will be invited to explore yoga beyond the poses and begin seeing it as a path of self-awareness, healing, devotion, liberation, and sacred connection.

This episode is especially supportive for beginners, spiritual seekers, women on the Divine Feminine path, and anyone who has ever felt that yoga was not accessible to them.

You do not have to be flexible, young, thin, athletic, experienced, or perfect to practice yoga. Yoga can meet you exactly where you are.

Yoga can be practiced through movement, breathwork, meditation, mantra, prayer, Yoga Nidra, somatic movement, chair yoga, bed yoga, and sacred rest.

At its heart, yoga is the practice of returning home to yourself.

    In This Episode, You’ll Explore

    • The deeper meaning of the word yoga
    • Yoga as union, connection, and coming home to yourself
    • How yoga connects body, breath, mind, spirit, and the Divine
    • Why yoga is more than stretching or exercise
    • Yoga as a complete spiritual system
    • Yoga as a path of self-awareness, healing, discipline, and liberation
    • Why yoga does not require flexibility, youth, thinness, or perfection
    • How accessible yoga can include chair yoga, bed yoga, somatic yoga, breathwork, meditation, mantra, and Yoga Nidra
    • How yoga can support the Divine Feminine and priestess path
    • A simple closing breath practice and affirmation

    Spiritual Reflection

Yoga is the practice of returning home to yourself.

Yoga does not ask you to become someone else. It invites you to return to your breath, your body, your spirit, your intuition, and your inner truth.

    Journal Prompt

Where in my life do I feel disconnected from my body, breath, spirit, or inner truth?

Take time after the episode to write, meditate, pull a card, or simply sit with this question.

    Closing Practice

Take three slow breaths and repeat:

    I return to myself.

    I honor my body.

    I welcome peace.
