With the sequel coming out in just a few weeks, we decided it was time to revisit an old classic here at Spooky Tuesday. When Beetlejuice (1988) first hit theaters over 36 years ago, audiences fell instantly in love with the titular character — even though he was meant to be more of a disgusting villain than a charming rogue. In fact, he's become so iconic that it's almost easy to forget Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis play the actual main characters. It doesn't help that Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara are major scene stealers too, but this whole flick is packed with fun, funny moments, and it's hard to choose just one fave. On our latest episode, we're digging into the grimy, ghostly nitty-gritty as we try not to summon too many evil spirits.

The word on the street was that Longlegs (2024) would be the "scariest movie of the year," but does it live up to the hype? We decided to check out Neon's new release for ourselves here at Spooky Tuesday, and we're ready to discuss whether those Silence of the Lambs comparisons are truly holding up. Is Maika Monroe's Lee Harker giving Clarice? Does Nic Cage's titular serial killer lean more Hannibal Lecter or Buffalo Bill? Director Osgood Perkins is definitely packing in the CLEAR references, but they might lean more musical than cinematic. On our latest episode, we're doing our best to catch this flick's sneaky visual cues, get to the bottom of where all that buzz came from, and determine whether Longlegs's alias is actually appropriate.

You can't get rid of us that easily, Spookies. We're not only back for more I Know What You Did Last ? SUMMER ?, we're all together and stronger than ever on our latest episode of Spooky Tuesday. This week, we're keeping our summer theme going with I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), and we're celebrating in style by actually all being in the same room as we sing, swap places, profess our love to Brandy, and discuss Jack Black's dreads. We're also getting into the very real CLEAR references this movie makes to the original novel this series was based on and saying lots of other smart stuff (like the capital of Brazil — impressed, much?), so make sure you tune in to see just how in tune with each other the three of us are.

Brr, it's cold in here, Spookies! And you know what that means: There simply MUST be some Toros in the atmosphere. It's time for another Fifth Tuesday bonus episode here at Spooky Tuesday, and we're tumbling head-first into the summer slumber party vibes. Break out your pom-poms and warm up your spirit fingers, because this week we're bringing it with Bring It On (2020). An endlessly-quotable Kirsten Dunst classic that inspired about a billion bisexual crises and made toothbrushing sexy, this is one of the most iconic flicks of the early aughts — and it also features mega-babes Eliza Dushku and Gabrielle Union. What else could you possibly want?

It's the third film in a hot horror franchise AND it makes the hop to Hollywood, so the comparisons between MaXXXine (2024) and Scream 3 were inevitable — but are they a compliment or a criticism? In our latest episode of Spooky Tuesday, we're covering the newest (but perhaps not final) movie in Ti West's spooky saga starring Mia Goth. A direct sequel to 2022's X but coming on the heels of prequel Pearl, this flick has a tough job striking the right tone and trying to stand alone, but one thing we can say for it is that the accent work definitely makes it stand out.
