The Philadelphia Sixers lose to the Orlando Magic 112-97. Joel Embiid was being rested for load management since it was the second game of their back to back. The fourth quarter was awful as the Sixers were outscored 32-15. Turnovers were a problem, which is nothing new, and Tobias Harris struggled again. He only recorded 8 points and did not hit one three-pointer. The team can't hit anything from deep as they only shot 26.7% from three. They also only had one free throw late in the third quarter. Ben Simmons and Harris both ended the game with zero free throws. As a team, they shot 69% from the charity stripe which is a joke. I thought Ben Simmons had a good night and Josh Richardson was okay. James Ennis and Kyle O'Quinn provided spark off the bench, but reality is, what a terrible loss.
The Philadelphia Flyers keep their point streak alive as they lose in a shootout to the Washington Capitals. I figured this was going to be a loss because let's be real, there was no way the Flyers were going to win THREE STRAIGHT SHOOTOUTS, am I right? The Capitals dominated the first period by a long shot. For the Flyers to battle as hard as they did, I was very impressed. Carter Hart had a spectacular performance once again and he truly deserves a ton of praise. In the third period, the Flyers finally capitalized on a powerplay thanks to Jake Voracek dishing the biscuit over the Claude Giroux to tie the game. Sean Couturier hit the pipe in overtime, Matt Niskanen had a good chance, and the squad controlled the puck for majority of the three on three session. At the end of the day, they lost the skills competition, but the effort was there as they played inspired hockey. Also something to note, the Flyers penalty killed kept Alex Ovechkin, TJ Oshie, Evgeny Kutznetsov, and their weapons off the board.

The Philadelphia Sixers squeaked out a victory down the stretch to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 98-97. Joel Embiid led the way with 27 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and one steal. The team shot 21.2% from three going eight for 38. Tobias Harris missed 11 threes and did not connect on one. It was a really tough night shooting for him. Josh Richardson missed seven of his eight three attempts. The Sixers only turned the ball over four times in the first half, but ended with too many which is a common theme for this team. Ben Simmons returned to the lineup and he clearly was a difference maker. Down the wire, he defended Kevin Love in the post and beat him on a jump ball which most point guards can not do! To win the game, Brett Brown dialed up a beautiful play which resulted with Joel Embiid getting a bucket down low. The Sixers did need to hold their breath as Kevin Love had a chance from three to tie the game with a good look, but he hit iron. 
The Philadelphia Eagles' bye week is now over. It is time to focus on the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. I have no clue what to expect out of this team. I actually enjoyed the bye week because I was sick and tired of hearing about the brutal wide receivers. They are so embarrassing and I understand why the conversation was drilled into everyones head, but I needed fresh air. Now we are back and so is the discussion, which is fair. Will Jordan Matthews be enough? (Insert laugh here)

The Philadelphia Sixers snapped their three game losing skid and beat the Charlotte Hornets by a score of 114-106. The Sixers did their job. They had to win the game and that's what happened. Ben Simmons was still not in the lineup so Raul Neto got another start. The only issue with this game was the second quarter where the Sixers fell asleep and the Hornets outscored them by 14 points. After the halftime, the Sixers took back control of the game. The scoring was so balanced throughout the entire starting lineup to the bench. Furkan Korkmaz dropped 17 points and was getting doubled team. DOUBLED TEAMED! How amazing is his story?! 
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Boston Bruins in a shootout! They snagged four points in a back to back road trip, in Toronto and in Boston. This is VERY impressive! Carter Hart came up so big down the stretch. He saved David Pastrnak on a penalty shot and also made three huge saves at the end of the third period as the Bruins had a powerplay. The Flyers actually had a 2-0 lead after the first period as Travis Konecny netted the first goal and Phil Myers continued his hot stretch by scoring the second. Konecny actually assisted Myers goal and Sean Couturier recorded assists on both. In the third, Boston had a wave of momentum that resulted in two goals to tie the scoring. The game could not be finished in overtime so after Joel Farabee scored a disgusting shootout goal, Carter Hart did what he needed on his end, including closing the door on David Pastrnak again.

The Philadelphia Sixers lose their third straight as they fall to the Denver Nuggets 100-97. The Sixers were leading by 21 points and blew it in the fourth quarter. Ben Simmons was not in the lineup due to injury. This was totally unacceptable! Nikola Jokic drilled the game winning  shot with one second left after great defense by the Sixers. Joel Embiid had an awful game and I expect way better out of him! Al Horford struggled big time, only shooting 3 of 12 from the field. Josh Richardson recorded three points and Mike Scott made one field goal in 19 minutes of run. Brett Brown deserves blame and so does Tobias Harris for not being aggressive enough. A couple players did alright as Trey Burke, Raul Neto, and Kyle O'Quinn did their job. Matisse Thybulle did not check in for any minutes. There were a few terrible calls made by the refs late, but that was not the reason the Sixers blew the game. 
The Philadelphia Flyers win in overtime 3-2 against the Montreal Canadiens to improve to 8-5-2 on the season! Carey Price almost stole the game for the Habs, but the Flyers never gave up. To start the scoring in the first period, Phillipe Myers put a wrister on net from the blue line that beat Price. Under one minute into the second period, James Van Riemsdyk scores a goal from the door step. Carter Hart allowed a bad rebound after the Flyers pumped Price with a bunch of great scoring chances for the Habs to cut the lead to 2-1. Shea Weber, in the third, responded with a goal off a Flyers turnover in the defensive zone to tie the game. Carsen Twarynski was rewarded a penalty shot late in the third period, but couldn't find the back of the net. In overtime, Sean Couturier squeaks one past Price to win the game. Philly went 0 for 6 on the powerplay.

The Philadelphia Sixers lose their second game in a row and fall in Utah by a score of 106-104. The score does not tell the story. First of all, Ben Simmons left the game 10 minutes in with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder. He will be reevaluated on Thursday. The Sixers got abused on the glass and the Jazz outworked them completely. Joel Embiid returned with 27 points and 16 rebounds, but the team is clearly struggling to get other players involved when he is clogging up the middle offensively. Tobias Harris struggled until the fourth when Embiid wasn't in the paint as much. Al Horford shot 3 of 13 after a couple games of being a threat on that side of the court. Donovan Mitchell recorded 24 points, but he took 23 shots. Josh Richardson had his best game as a Sixers with 24 points of his own. They had a chance to beat the Jazz late, but came up short down the stretch with mental errors. I thought they played awful even though the final score didn't show it.
The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Carolina Hurricanes by a score of 4-1. Carolina definitely controlled the game for the first 40 minutes, but Carter Hart stood on his head. It was a remarkable performance by the young netminder. The Flyers scored first thanks to Matt Niskanen throwing a puck on net and Sean Couturier getting his stick on it to take an early lead on the power play. About six minutes into the second, Carolina responded to tie the game on a goal with some nice puck movement. The third period was all Flyers. They scored three goals thanks to Travis Konecny, Joel Farabee, and Claude Giroux. It was one of those games where they didn't control the game, but came out on top. It seems like they were rewarded after being on the other side of a couple games like this earlier in the season.

The Philadelphia Eagles have informed the fan base that Desean Jackson is going to get surgery. I believe the Eagles made a mistake with how they handled the situation.
The Philadelphia Sixers lose their first game of the season in Phoenix against the Suns. Devin Booker scored 40 points on 19 shots... he was absolutely sensational. Joel Embiid did not play as he was serving the last game of his suspension. Al Horford had a monster game scoring 32 points, Tobias stepped up, and even Furkan Korkmaz was involved with 20 points. Ben Simmons put on a performance that was unacceptable. He went two of eight from the field with six points and only went to the free throw line one time. The Suns put Aron Baynes on Simmons which clearly frustrated him. I am not too upset they lost a game, it was just disappointing watching Simmons be that bad. He did record seven steals, but that is a flawed stat when describing his play against the Suns.

The Philadelphia Eagles hold on to beat the Chicago Bears 22-14 to go into the bye week with a 5-4 record. The Eagles had a 12-0 lead after the first half as they completely dominated. The Bears had one passing yard, nine total yards, and only converted one first down. The Birds came out in the second half with a beautiful drive to take a 19 point lead. From there, the Bears took shots down field and found a way to move the ball. Mitch Tribusky connected with Taylor Gabriel that later resulted in a David Montgomery touchdown. Then, Montgomery scored his second touchdown of the game. Suddenly, that 19 point lead was cut to five. In the fourth quarter, Carson Wentz and the Eagles offense converted on four third downs and finished the game off by burning the clock. Alshon Jeffery had a weird game as he dropped three big passes. Zach Ertz had a big game with nine catches for over 100 yards. Doug Pederson was..... eh. The biggest takeaway is, the Eagles are over .500 heading into the bye with the NFC East still in play.
The Philadelphia Sixers beat the Portland Trail Blazers 129-128 in a very entertaining basketball game. The Sixers would consistently be down double digits, but would crawl back to a three or four point deficit. Portland would always respond as they knocked down 19 three-pointers and shot 54% from behind the arc. They would always respond, except for one time, the most important time. Ben Simmons went to the free throw line, down one point with 10 seconds left, and drilled BOTH with excellent form. He looked super confident in that moment after having a very so-so game. On the other end, Damian Lillard passed out to Anfernee Simons who hit a dagger three to take a two point lead. Little did everyone know, Furkan Korkmaz with .4 seconds left after Brett Brown drew up a beautiful play, would hit the game winning three point shot. WHAT A GAME! The Sixers are 5-0.

The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Chicago Bears at Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday at 1:00. It is the first home game in a long time so the fans will be extra! Perfect. I think the Eagles offense will finally click if Desean Jackson is able to go. Right now, he is listed as questionable and Doug Pederson claims he is optimistic. Carson Wentz and this running game can be effective and open up the play action. The Bears defense is legit, but it is beatable, as long as the Birds don't turn the ball over. Matt Nagy and Mitch Trubisky are a mess now offensively so I can't see them scoring too many points!

Ben Simmons put KAT in a headlock so there would be no more tussling going on. Mike Scott loved every minute of it. Both players have been suspended for 2 games. Ben Simmons receives no punishment.

The Philadelphia Sixers take down the Minnesota Timberwolves and dominate to stay undefeated. Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns get into a fight and both were ejected. We are now waiting to see what the suspensions will be. Ben Simmons put KAT in a headlock so there would be no more tussling going on. Mike Scott loved every minute of it. But let's get to the actual game. The Sixers dominated. They dominated on the glass, defensively, and offensively. Robert Covington made his return to Philadelphia and he looked the exact same. He couldn't put the ball on the floor or shoot very well. 
The washington nationals beat the Houston Astros in game 7 to win the world series. What a fantastic ride and it was very enjoyable to watch. Anthony Rendon, Juan Soto, Max Scherzer, and all of their staff put together an amazing run at the championship. Poor Bryce Harper..... From a Phillies fan , this is a nightmare, but as a sports fan this was great! The Houston Astros had so many chances to put more runs on the board, all throughout the series, but couldn't. AJ Hinch managed a pathetic game 7. WHAT A SERIES!!!

The Philadelphia Eagles, Howie Roseman, and the entire NFL stayed quiet during the trade deadline. It was obvious to me that GMs just have no clue what the market is right now so everyone is asking for way too much for specific players. I am not mad at Howie Roseman for not acquiring anyone. It is not worth giving up the future for someone who will be here for more than the rest of this season. It's not worth a second round draft pick for 8 more games....
The Philadelphia Sixers stole a win against the Atlanta Hawks by winning 105-103. Joel Embiid dominated with 36 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. He dunked on John Collins and it was beautiful! Embiid was also 10 for 10 at the charity stripe, where he came up clutch to take the lead thanks to a great play design by Brett Brown. The Sixers had a high low play set up between Al Horford and Embiid which lead to his clutch free throws. Prior to that, when the Sixers were up three points with nine seconds left, Brett Brown wanted to foul Trae Young on purpose so he would not drain a three.  He hit the first free throw and the second rolled out of the rim, tipped by Collins, and the Hawks tied the game. Things were very funky down the stretch. The Sixers did this all shorthanded, without Mike Scott who was ejected for a bogus flagrant two call and Shake Milton after leaving the game with an injury.
The Philadelphia Flyers lose their second straight game by falling to the Pittsburgh Penguins 7-1. This was an embarrassment. The Flyers looked absolutely lost in the defensive zone, threw pucks everywhere, and came out flat. How is that possible against the PITTSBURGH PENGUINS?!?!?! Brian Elliot was pulled after the second period when the score was 6-0. The blame doesn't go on him as the team was in shambles in the d zone. There are too many players that have a confidence issue at the moment. Alain Vigneault sure has his work cut out for him.
