Welcome to episode #505 of Six Pixels Of Separation - The Mirum Podcast.
Here it is: Six Pixels Of Separation - The Mirum Podcast - Episode #505 - Host: Mitch Joel. We have learned a lot in the past few years about what works in business. We have companies' valuations explode with massive growth. We've also re-invented the spaces that we work in. So, how has it all worked out? Do open-floor plans really work, or do they make employees miserable? Are there companies which really put their employees' welfare first, and their clients second? Are annual performance reviews really necessary? These are just some of the questions that Dr. David Burkus has been trying to answer. The culmination is his second book, Under New Management: How Leading Organizations Are Upending Business as Usual. David is a regular contributor to Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Psychology Today and 99U. When not speaking or writing, he's also an assistant professor of management at Oral Roberts University, where he teaches courses on organizational behavior, creativity, innovation, and strategic leadership. His first book was titled, The Myths of Creativity - The Truth About How Innovative Companies Generate Great Ideas, ands podcast is called, Radio Free Leader. I'm excited to welcome him back to the show. Enjoy the conversation...
