KEY TAKEAWAYS
- I never thought that coaching was a possibility, or working in leadership development or human resources was going to be anything remotely interesting for me or my journey. But in the Fall of 2009 when I was coaching some first year students on resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn and interviewing skills, the rest of the world completely shut off and I knew this was something that was going to impact my life for years to come. I felt great in my body and I was getting third party external validation from the students who were feeding back which helped me to believe in myself.
- It’s hard to release the expectation of what we’re supposed to do based on how we compare ourselves to others. That’s why I’ve written my book. We have to look back at what we were acculturated to believe between birth and age 6 and what happens to the human mind when we’re in the theta brain wave state, this is the time when we are acculturated and socialised to be acceptable by our parents. At age 7 we move into the beta brain wave state which is a conscious discussion we have every day. We unknowingly repeat the same behaviours our parents delivered to us from birth to age 6 and these are the things that drive us to compare ourselves to others and others progress. These are not fair measurements and comparisons, the best thing you can possibly do is be hyper clear about who you are. If you know your mission, your core values, what makes you different and unique in the marketplace and every single day you’re sharing something with people, the goal is the quality of the impact on the individual not the quantity of the impact you have on tens, dozens, hundreds or thousands.
- I perceive life as being an upward spiral, we are continually confronted by situations that happen, but as we climb the spiral we’re more emotionally resilient. The way the universe tests us is by giving us deeper knowledge and understanding of what it was testing us for a year or two ago.
- There’s a lot to be said for understanding the ‘soul body’ and its experience and what it’s doing and what has come from previous lives and thing that we’ve encountered from emotional traumas and things that we’ve experienced in this life and that right now, in human history, we’re going through a massive release. Not everybody has recognised that it’s occurring but for the last couple of years we’ve seen people navigate change that they’ve never navigated and we’ve seen them walk into their true selves in some way. The last couple of years has been teaching humanity – not everybody’s doing it – the more feminine expression of themselves. Make sure that you take time for release every day – meditation, yoga, reiki, time in nature.
BEST MOMENTS
‘We’re a very social species, we definitely need validation from others.’
‘I’ll be happy if I sell 1000 books. I haven’t got there yet, but I’ve received 25 or 26 messages from people around the world that something in my book literally saved their life. To me, that’s completely worth the investment of my time to become a coach, publishing the book and sharing it.’
‘Our society has built up this image of what it means to be a coach or be successful, but I think that our work on Earth is how we can pick up the heaviest burden that we can bear, emotionally, to reduce other people’s suffering and to carry that burden every single day.’
‘Perfection is the lowest standard you could possibly set.’
ABOUT THE GUEST
Michael Seaver’s mission is to unlock human potential. He was raised in a small, conservative West Michigan town in the ‘80s and ‘90s. His grandfather started our family’s lawn maintenance business in 1953 and he devoted 12 years to helping his father and grandfather live comfortably.
Something inside Michael knew he couldn’t fulfil his mission there, so at age 23, he moved to Arizona to begin anew. After a few years in the hospitality industry, Michael attended the Thunderbird School of Global Management and completed an MBA. Thunderbird brought his life’s mission to light.
Michael learned that he valued authenticity, growth, spirituality, wellness, and power, and how important each was to him. He then worked at one of America’s largest non-profit healthcare systems only to feel the same way he felt in Michigan. Soon, Michael left that role, started his coaching practice in 2011, and has continued to grow the ways he serves others. Through life’s uncertainties, he’s learned just how powerful human intuition is.
Michael has travelled the world seeking new ways of being. He’s coached leaders across the globe, changed corporate cultures, spoken on stage in front of thousands, written a few books and hundreds of articles, been interviewed by others and hosted his own podcast and facilitated online courses.
Through it all, Michael realised that the more he challenged mainstream ideologies, the more he recognized the patterns in human life, and the more he brought together the human personal and professional selves into one authentic being. The more he could help others move through their pain-to-purpose journey trusting they were on the right path at the right time. Your life’s answers are already inside you. Michael’s diverse set of coaching experiences and soul-based instincts serve as the clear signal to help you unlock your most authentic self.

ABOUT THE HOST
Gavin Scott is a born entrepreneur with a passion for start up and scale up. He has over 20 years real estate experience in investment and development.
Gavin says: Over the years I have discovered that mindset is everything. Now, that might sound obvious, but it is! You see the number of awoken minds are very few in reality. Whilst acknowledging mindset is key it is absolutely different from utilising, influencing, impacting and effecting great change, for yourself, your loved ones, friends, colleagues and the wider public.
Why?
Like most of us I have had many ups and downs. I want to share the lessons learnt and promote a better environment for all, internally and externally!
How?
Through sharing my own experiences and hosting some fabulous individuals including some big household names to discuss key topics around mindset and the success formulas I hope the listener will become inspired to create space for change for betterment in their lives. I aim to inspire change by encouragement, not by force. I intend to inspire by education, not by regulation.
