  • Female Empowerment: Maxine L Cervera-Osborn

In this episode of the podcast Gavin is joined by Maxine L Cervera-Osborn, a former teacher who left the profession to become a yoga instructor with the aim of helping women look after themselves.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • I noticed that a lot of women had a lot of emotions that came up through the movement, so the basis of Goddess Yoga is to love your curves, our bodies change when we have kids, a bit of your body doesn't bounce back and you gain weight, you get stretch marks. I started hating my body, but through learning these movements I rediscovered and began to love my body and myself again. I knew I connect to other women in this way. There’s an element of counselling and life coaching as well and we go on retreats as well.
    • Society puts dampers on emotions and has taught us they’re bad, especially with men; you’re not supposed to cry. We experience emotions for a reason, they’re our guideline. Through my own life coach training I’ve learned it’s important to really feel, the power in your words alone are amazing. What you speak goes out into the universe and are heard, and that’s where manifestation comes in. Let go of your fear and step into your courage.
    • The guidance I was given by my life coach really helped me discover my fears and how to shift my language so I can create a life I truly love. From the day I stopped teaching and resigned, I’ve not had a heart palpitation since and my thyroid medication dosage has drastically dropped for the first time in over 20 years. As a life coach I’m healing my body as well as doing what I love to do.
    • Women can support each other by looking at another woman for the very first time without seeing their background and the limited beliefs they may have within, look at them for the very first time as a blessing. We all have ‘stuff’ and limiting beliefs. It’s about looking past that and seeing the blessings in life and being grateful for everything, even the things that seem challenging.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘We really delve into the emotional journey of life and what’s going on within you. We tend to carry around a lot of trauma and yoga really squished them out.’

‘Life tends to get in the way sometimes and we take on different beliefs and limited patterns and we forget who we are and who we were created to be. I try to remind women of who they were meant to be, the sky’s the limit.’

‘We can co-create our life, it’s a choice and you can choose for life not to be hard by simply shifting your language. Life can be fun and easy.’

‘Life is beautiful and it’s important to see everything is a blessing.’

    ABOUT THE HOST

Gavin Scott is a born entrepreneur with a passion for start up and scale up. He has over 20 years real estate experience in investment and development.

Gavin says: Over the years I have discovered that mindset is everything. Now, that might sound obvious, but it is! You see the number of awoken minds are very few in reality. Whilst acknowledging mindset is key it is absolutely different from utilising, influencing, impacting and effecting great change, for yourself, your loved ones, friends, colleagues and the wider public.

    Why?

Like most of us I have had many ups and downs. I want to share the lessons learnt and promote a better environment for all, internally and externally!

    How?

Through sharing my own experiences and hosting some fabulous individuals including some big household names to discuss key topics around mindset and the success formulas I hope the listener will become inspired to create space for change for betterment in their lives. I aim to inspire change by encouragement, not by force. I intend to inspire by education, not by regulation.

  • Stay The Course

In this episode Gavin is back to talk about what ‘stay the course’ means, from seeing it through no matter what to being relentless in the pursuit of your goals, achievement and ambitions. KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • There have been moments I’ve wanted to quit the detox I’ve been on, I’ve asked myself do I stop, or do I take the next step and go beyond? Stopping means quitting. To stay the course means not to quit. There are many things in life I can relate that to.
    • There are times during my short podcasting career where I’ve asked myself if people listen or get any value out of what I have to offer? On that note, please follow, subscribe and comment on the content.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘How do you know it’s not going to work out if you don’t see it through? You won’t know. Is that something you’re prepared to live with? Will you regret not staying the course?’

‘You are the captain of your own life, you’re on an adventure, life is exciting, the things you do matter and are important. Will you stay the course? Listen to yourself. In each of you there’s perfect DNA that makes you your authentic self. If you’ve started something, stay the course. Only then will you know that you’ve reached the destination.’

  • Taking Entrepreneurs From Busy to Healthy With Brandon Johnson

In this episode of the podcast Gavin is joined by Brandon Johnson, a multi-six-figure online business coaching advisor, business builder and martial artist.

You can donate to Gavin’s JustGiving page for The Ocean Cleanup by clicking here: https://bit.ly/3DRZefO

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to The Ocean Cleanup, so it's the most efficient way to give - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Martial arts is not about punching people in the face, it’s about self-discovery of who you are and continuously being intrigued and infatuated with it. All martials arts are a form of expression. To find your martial art you have to find who you are and then express it. As I grew, and still grow, the reason I’m here is not because of the things that I’ve been able to do, it’s what I’ve been able to receive and find from the questions that I’ve asked myself through a young age of meditation.
    • Sometimes being comfortable will lead to the biggest pitfalls: maintenance, complacency and justifications. The moment you find yourself in a maintenance stage that’s the beginning of the deterioration of whatever it is: relationships, business, mindset.
    • The difference between therapists and coaches is a therapist will do a great job at having you understand why things happen the way they did. Coaches take you somewhere, we’re more on the empathetic, not sympathetic. When you have that motivator and nurturer within yourself you can then hunt and dominate, not for vanity, but for value.
    • It’s all about perspective. For me, failure is giving up, moving forward when something doesn’t pan out isn’t a failure, it’s a learning point to become better. It had to happen in order for you to become better, feel better, be better prepared. If I’m taking credit for success I’ve got to also take credit for the bullshit.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘I get told 'I'm feeling like I'd be talking to someone much older – I’m 27 – and that’s only because I’ve been surrounded by wonderful people and being able to watch and take a little bit from every single one.’

‘It’s my belief that the discipline of doing things I don’t want to do that’s built the discipline of self-respect for myself, not doing the things I want to do.’

‘As a coach, I can’t take anyone anywhere. I can impress and I can inspire.’

‘Why are you beating yourself up for discovering more about yourself? You knew this shit was going to be hard, if it was easy everybody would know who they are.’

  • Take The Power Back

In this episode Gavin is back to talk about how he has recently been juice detoxing and how it’s given him a different perspective on a lot of things.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • I’ve not been to therapy or anything, all I’ve done is remove the intoxicants that we are programmed to and freely put in our bodies. It does take commitment, motivation and a determined mindset, but on the other side of the door is a whole new world just waiting for you to explore.
    • Do you suffer from the noise of the world and your ego? I’m not eating food while I’m juicing, but I’ve sat with friends at various eateries and you see and smell food and it tickles your senses. You see yourself eating like they are and you feel you must feed yourself and you become hungry. This is the devil talking on your shoulder, you need to stop listening. But why do you choose to listen?
    • There have been many times in the last 14 days where the devil and angel have been talking at the same time directly into my ear. When this happens you can suffer from confusion and you wish it to stop. To take back the power here you must cut out the noise, refrain from giving the power to the angel or the devil and take the power back.
    • This applies to your business life, personal life, any number of subjects, every experience we go through. The only way I can make this programme work and get to 28 days without giving in is to take the power back. Make the ego surrender and give in to my demands and make it understand what I wish to achieve.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘There’s a devil on your shoulder and an angel on the other.’

‘You have to tell yourself you have no need for this thing you’ve attached such a big element of your life to. You do not need to consume.’

‘When my energy is low, I want to reach for food. If I allow the exhaustion and confusion to create a low energy within me, I’m more likely to give in and eat. The ego wants you to think of these things because it’s a comfortable habit you’ve created.’

‘I have chosen to take and reclaim the power, my ego will not define me any longer!’

  • Widening Our Perspectives And Uncovering Our Intuition With Alison Proffit

In this episode of the podcast Gavin is joined by Alison Proffit, a Soulful Sales & Profitability Success Coach, who helps small businesses approach their sales and pricing strategies from the heart instead of just the head.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Between 2017 and 2020, I went through 9 moves, three of which were to different states, 4 job losses, 4 failed attempts to start my business, 2 career changes, severe depression and a divorce. When I finally started my business, Proffit Coach, in October 2019, I was profitable in my first month and that’s because over the last couple of years I’d got to know more skills in my other endeavours, including sales and marketing.
    • What happens, at a physiological level when we’re in a state of joy, we’re releasing those hormonal responses in our body – dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins – these are designed to optimise our systems. When you’re in those states we’re able to see a more expansive view which helps us solve challenges, be more present, be open to what’s next and new experiences and not stare longingly at the door that’s closed but be in a place of acceptance and learning from that and apply it to the next thing.
    • Your guideposts should be your values, your intuition, and surrounding yourself with other people who are looking to stay outstanding, who are working on their mindsets, who are striving for that state of joy and achieving it more often than not. It doesn’t mean that you’re avoiding the negative feelings and the hardships, but are you finding purpose in those things? When there’s purpose you can find joy.
    • Knowledge creates judgments over time, when we learn from the people around us there are things put on us over time that can begin to block our intuition. Learning how to  access intuition is about feeling back some of the layers of knowledge that you’ve accepted as truth, evaluating your belief systems and finding out who you are instead of who you were told to be. Then intuition will begin taking the driver’s seat

    BEST MOMENTS

‘At the heart of Proffit Coach is how to sell, market, run and be in your business in a very soul-aligned way. I do that in a mix of coaching, consulting, training and I integrate a lot of spiritual practices in the work – breathwork, oracle cards, prayer, etc.’

‘I feel like I was out on this Earth to help people pursue their passions and make money doing it. I feel like I attract people that want to make a positive impact on the world.’

‘People want to be around joy instead of fear, stress, complaining, woe is me, victim energy.’

‘Intuition is inside all of us. When we start getting feelings of dissonance, often that’s our intuition trying to get our attention.’

    ABOUT THE GUEST

Alison Proffit’s mission is to help mission-driven entrepreneurs feel more soulfulness and joy in their business in terms of both what they are doing and how they are doing it. Approaching business with joy as the leading indicator ultimately leads to more success, better connections, and higher-converting sales conversations. When we are joyful and doing business (and life) in a way that allows them to feel and sound like their most authentic self, they can impact the world and unleash a higher level of abundance in their life and business in a more soul-filling way.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • When the time comes, when you squeeze the lemon of life will it be left half squeezed? Or will you make sure to squeeze every last drop out of that lemon? Every minute and ever molecule of your being should be set afire with joy, happiness, passion and with a smile.
    • Do you want to wake up and own your day, or do you want your day to own you? You can choose to react and change what you do so that your results are different to the results you’ve been getting, or you can sit there and say I have no will, I will not take ownership, I forbid myself the responsibility to do so. There’s either more joy and happiness in life or less. But you choose.
    • There have been a lot of things that we’ve clung to through Covid like I don’t need to work harder, I don’t need to wake up earlier, I don’t need to be happy, I don’t need to play harder. But we’ve been fooling ourselves. True freedom comes, not from fooling ourselves, but from expressing who we really are.
    • If you’re over the age of 30, you’ll look back and see that you had more energy, confidence and freedom. This is because you didn’t hold grudges, bear pain, or attach to hurt. Do you want to be a younger version of yourself and get out of bed with vibrancy and vivacity, walk into work, the gym or down the street and be seen to have more energy. If the answer to that is yes, email me. I’m here to help you. I’ve been where you’ve been, to the bottom and back more times than I care to mention. Each time I’ve come back bigger and better.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘Do you want to go through life with more smiles or less smiles?’

‘Do you want to do more of the things you enjoy doing? There’s one thing to do: Call me for a free 30 minute coaching call if you email me with the title “I want to be motivated”.’

‘We exude happiness. When you’re happy people can feel it, this makes them feel happy and they pass the feeling on to others. Before we know it we’re all a lot happier.’

‘Covid allowed me to go inside and affect my internal world. I’ve learned and harnessed how we can make every day more joyful and happy and spend more time smiling.’

  • Emotional Detective With Heather A Dempsey

In this episode of the podcast Gavin is joined by Heather A Dempsey, an emotional health coach who helps entrepreneurs get really clear on what their problem is, whether that’s strategic, tactics, beliefs or mindset.

    • The impact I can have on everyone, and then everyone that they know, and the world as we see it means so much. As a society we’ve been encouraged to withdraw from emotions and become functioning machines. This has contributed to our misery, depression, anxiety, eating issues, buying issues, credit issues – all this stuff. My hope is to help people tap back into all the good stuff – which also means painful stuff – that is being a human.
    • What’s the wound that we’re constantly reopening instead of healing once and for all, that’s why things don’t work, because we’re not addressing the problem. We’re outing band-aids over a dirty wound instead of actually tending to it and letting it heal. This work isn’t for everyone, but it’s about exploring the depths of this feeling, what could it possibly be stemming from, following the clues like a detective until we discover where it started.
    • I believe we’re this tiny little being of energy when we’re born. Energy attracts like energy. Let’s say three things stick and they are that we didn’t feel supported, we felt alone and abandoned. We’ll keep attracting that until it becomes our energetic DNA and they become patterns. When someone comes to me and truly wants to shift the pattern, I ask them to pretend we absolutely must come up with answers to these questions: How is this pattern serving you? What’s the danger to stopping the pattern? Why is my life better for staying in this pattern? When we hear what the reasons are, the clarity makes it so simple to break the habit at that point. It’s like shining a light into the closet where the scary monsters live and showing that they don’t.
    • I was into exploring Buddhism as a practice. I visited an event near me where the monks were making mandalas out of sand. It looked really cool, but then the wind blows it away after they’re finished. I got so uncomfortable with the fact they put so much effort into making something beautiful just for it to blow away. That made me see how attached I am to things… that’s why I was looking into Buddhism. That constant reminder for me helps me to be ready when change happens. Nothing is permanent and that’s what’s beautiful about life, otherwise nothing would ever grow and evolve and it’s also some of the painful things about life. I’m just better prepared for it and can remind myself that this is the way to something beautiful.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘I use the term emotional health coach rather than emotional wellness coach because I feel like most people consider health over wellness and I want people to look at their emotions as a priority.’

‘I’m so emo! I love to cry because I’m so happy or because I’m so sad.’

‘Clients glorifying me and thinking I’m the solution to their problem is a red flag. I’m not the magic wand holder. When I am, my rates will skyrocket!’

‘Each part of us has individual needs, not just the whole of us. So, until they’re addressed, satiated, comforted, made to feel confident that it’s OK, then they’re constantly going to be activated which is what’s stopping us from getting our needs met. It’s so deep, but that’s part of the fun of it for me.’

    ABOUT THE GUEST

Heather’s story: There have been many times that I’ve needed help.  I didn’t know who to turn to or if they would be willing to help me.  I tried so many things on my own but was consistently disappointed that what I thought would be the solution to my problems wasn’t.  And often I felt like a lost cause or that things would never change.

Multiple childhood traumas, the 20-year challenge of owning/operating 7 businesses, many award-winning.  The struggle was that I didn’t have support in place issues, never felt good enough, and always seeing my failures.  Then, add in my brother’s suicide, my own divorce – it became too much to handle and I had a quarter-life crisis.

As I was picking myself up from my meltdown, I was diagnosed with fertility issues and realised I was in an incredibly psychologically abusive relationship, I lost a lot of hope again.  It may have been my lowest point actually.  I was officially diagnosed with PTSD and anyone who saw me could tell there was something seriously wrong.

I had always been into personal development and so it was what I knew, I kept seeking and seeking, and over time I connected with the right support, experienced great processes, and from it, I have created my own methodology that works, quickly, effectively and long term.  With this knowledge and system, I couldn’t sit back knowing others may be going through the same without sharing it.

My pain led me to my real passion! All the other stuff was an attempt but this is really it!

I have gratitude for my life experience and while it does equip me well to help others, I have also trained with the best coaches in the world (and still do)!

So, when you work with me you can trust I can relate AND I have the right tools to help you.

When we work together. I promise you’ll discover things about yourself that surprise and empower you.

You will learn these tools and techniques to help you live the most joyful & authentic life!

It's never too late to go for the life of your dreams - full of deeply connected relationships, more fun & leisure, balance, financial freedom & whatever your heart desires!

In this episode Gavin is back to talk to us about how looking ahead can blind us to what’s here in the present moment.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • About 10-20 minutes into my swimming training this morning I realised that my head was in the wrong position. There’s an instinctive want to see where you’re going when swimming, but the best way to do it is to look straight down. I realised that I was in the moment, focussing on my head position and I was humbled by that.
    • I guarantee you that when you’re walking you’re looking forwards and thinking about something that doesn’t affect you at that moment. Next time you’re walking (in an open space, not on a street next to a road), close your eyes and focus on your body; what happens when you put one foot in front of the other, where are you connecting to the ground with your feet? How do your arms move?
    • With a body scan, start at your toes and check in with them. How do they feel? Wiggle just one toe. What happens when you move all of your toes? Circle your ankles, how do they feel? Move up the body and scan each part of the body, take the time to slowly check in and if you feel there’s a certain part that needs more attention, that’s where you should direct your efforts.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘We’re gonna get there sooner or later guys, there’s no need to look’

‘I was training myself to be present, you can do this by meditating or simply walking.’

‘People tell me all the time that they can’t meditate: Get present. Start practicing being present.’

  • Acknowledging You

In this episode Gavin is back in the car, driving around London, and talking to us about how wonderful acknowledgement is, even its most simple forms.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • We all seek acknowledgement. The way that the world has been crafted and structured in the past, acknowledgement is but of the ego. We crave to be seen, we crave to be heard. But only in the sense of the accolades of society.
    • Those accolades – BA, PhD, business partnerships and awards – all acknowledge attachments, not the self or spirit. We need to acknowledge the present moment, our existence.
    • I see you, my listeners, I feel you, my listeners, I hear you, my listeners. I acknowledge in this moment every single one of you for the life force beings that you are, for the good that you do in your environments, your surroundings, in your communities. I acknowledge the essence that emanates and radiates beyond your physical being. I acknowledge your contribution to the collective force, to the raising of the vibrations of consciousness that are now taking place across the world.
    • You must have the integrity, the curiosity to go within, to see the darkness in light and the light in darkness and accept what is, what has been and move forwards as a powerful creation, creating nothing more but your path and the future.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘Was it nice to have your ears acknowledged? How did you and your ears feel upon receiving such a compliment?’

‘It isn’t enough for me to just acknowledge you. I encourage you to acknowledge yourself and others in the way I have described.’

‘Be not the best version of yourself that society has come to use a catchphrase without meaning. I encourage you to encourage others to become valued members of your community.’

    ‘Acknowledge every part of yourself.’

  • Healing My Cancer

In this episode of the podcast Gavin is joined by Terri Mah, a stage IV pancreatic cancer survivor who is on the show to talk about his life and experiences.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Five years ago I was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer, just after my wife’s Dad passed away from Stage IV lung cancer. I had cancer in my lymph nodes, stomach and liver. It wasn’t go. After crying for two days we decided to attack this challenge, trying different types of pharmaceuticals and holistic treatments, but I’m a big believer that I’m here today because I did it all.
    • Meditation is a major thing I do every day, for 10 minutes or 3 hours. It’s amazing when you calm your mind down and focus and meditate on what you really want to do. My head was always so busy thinking about things going on at work, my kids and my wife, meditation has taught me to control the outside pressures of the world and focus on the important things. Visualisation is huge. I created my own ‘healing room’ which is like something out of Start Wars and Star Trek where I imagined I was laying on a high-tech bed and a scanner was taking away the cancer.
    • I got to the point where I visualised that everything going in me was killing the cancer; I’d drink a glass of water and say “this is awesome, it’s killing the cancer”, or “the air is so clean, it’s awesome, it’s killing the cancer”, I’d have a steak – which is probably not the best for me – I’d go “the steak in there is killing it”. That was my mindset: Everything that’s going into my body is killing my cancer. Then my wife said maybe I should stop fighting the cancer and acknowledge it and talk to it and try to convince it to leave.
    • My life was so busy before that I missed a lot of important moments in my life and my family’s life that were right in front of me. I wish O could go back to my kids growing up the way I am now. It’s amazing how, when you slow your mind down and focus on the beautiful things in life, there’s so much positivity and amazing thing surrounding you, but you don’t notice them because our minds are so full. We miss out on life.

    BEST MOMENTS

‘The mind and body was the biggest part I worked on and it helped me grow. It filled a void.’

‘Taking ‘Body Talk’ classes was new to me and I thought it was a bit hokey, but once you get into it it’s absolutely amazing how it can change your life. I believe it saved my life.’

‘I visualised the future and believing I was in that future and it had already happened. Seeing my kids married, playing with my grandchildren created such a powerful feeling in my body that my body believed I was there and I was alive and healthy. If you can do that it’s done, and the healing is happening.’

‘Our body is 99% energy/information and 1% matter. If you can change your energy you can change your life.’

    ABOUT THE GUEST

After being diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer, and being told he had 12 months to live, Terri Mah went on an extraordinary journey of self-development and learning which ultimately resulted in his complete healing.
