College football fans across the country are geeked for this Saturday's showdown between the Crimson Tide and the Tennessee Volunteers. Unfortunately, all signs point to Young missing the game due to injury. On a positive note, at least now all eyes will be focused on Tennessee's dark horse Heisman contender: Hendon Hooker. Later, Jason switches gears to the NBA to share his thoughts on the Golden State Warriors' decision not to suspend Draymond Green after he punched teammate Jordan Poole at practice. The video getting released certainly changed the way the public felt about the incident, so it is a little shocking that the Warriors would welcome Green back so easily. On today's episode, Jason hits us with a deep dive into the wild Monday Night Football game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs won the game, but the end result seemed almost secondary given how many 'other' storylines emerged. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were unstoppable for Kansas City... and yet the Chiefs player generating the most buzz this morning is defensive tackle Chris Jones in the wake of that phantom roughing the passing call. The NFL officiating in the wake of the Tua Tagovailoa injury has been absolutely brutal. Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams had monster games themselves... and yet all anyone wanted to talk about was Adams shoving a cameraman in frustration as he exited the field. At a minimum, Adams is looking at a hefty fine - and a potential personal injury lawsuit. With the Raiders sitting at 1-4 and head coach Josh McDaniels making a series of questionable decisions, it's entirely possible that he could be sitting on the coaching hot seat the rest of the season.

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) bring you wall-to-wall analysis on all the biggest headlines to come out of Sunday's NFL action. First, it's time for the Pittsburgh Steelers to embrace the tank. The Buffalo Bills absolutely obliterated the Steelers on Sunday, and given how banged up that roster is right now, there's a good chance they could be 1-7 at the season's mid-way point. Pittsburgh is going to be bad whether they want to be or not, so they might as well dive into the deep end. Sticking in the AFC, have you noticed that the New York Jets have the third best record in the conference through five weeks? With teams like the Miami Dolphins banged up beyond recognition and teams like the Cincinnati Bengals being woefully disappointing, it's not hard to image a scenario where the Jets sneak into the playoffs - especially if the Los Angeles Chargers continue to eschew common sense in favor of analytics. Moving over the NFC, it's time to have a real conversation about the Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. Stafford has been a turnover machine, but he's not getting much help from anyone else on that offense outside of Cooper Kupp. That said, is it fair to say that the move from Jared Goff to Stafford was a lateral one? A case can certainly be made that both guys only seem to thrive when everything else is clicking around him and turn into dumpster fires when things get shaky. On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) swings by to discuss the San Francisco 49ers' bludgeoning of the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football. As impressive as the Niners looked, however, the real story here has to be the Rams. Their offensive line has been terrible through the first 4 weeks, and if they can't get it together it's hard to take them seriously as a Super Bowl contender this season. In fact, the guys argue that the defending champions shouldn't even be viewed as Tier 2 Super Bowl contender at this point. The only point of contention for J-Mac and Rob G is how much of the blame lies at the feet of Matthew Stafford. Was last season's playoff run just a mirage? Is he really nothing more than a more polished version of Jameis Winston? Finally, the fellas close the show with a quick NBA preseason whiparound in which Rob G details what went right for the Los Angeles Lakers and what wrong for the Brooklyn Nets.

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) get the party started with a deep dive into the Baltimore Ravens' crushing loss at home to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. The Ravens have now blown 17+ point leads in both of their losses so far this season, and John Harbaugh is taking a ton of heat this morning for his decision to forego a field goal in the final minutes in favor of a 4th down try from the two yard line (which resulted in a Lamar Jackson interception). Baltimore wasn't the only heavyweight taking arrows today, however, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got absolutely blasted by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night. Even still, J-Mac says Tom Brady and the boys deserve a pass for their performance for several reasons - most notably because there was a freaking hurricane ravaging through the state of Florida all last week! It's hard to focus on football when the entire region is flooded. Just sayin'... Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers beat the New England Patriots, but they haven't been impressive in any of their 3 victories so far this season. On the flip side, Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos lost to the Las Vegas Raiders in what was arguably their best offensive performance of the year. Is it fair to say that neither team is all that good? Speaking of disappointments, have you seen what Baker Mayfield has been doing with the Carolina Panthers thus far? Yikes! In fact, things have gotten so bad for the former #1 overall pick that J-Mac and Rob G actually had to discuss whether or not Mayfield would be back in the NFL in 2023. Finally, Jason closes the show with a Los Angeles Rams-San Francisco 49ers Monday Night Football edition of the Best Bet.
