The River Lea in Enfield is the location for hundreds of people who can be found living on a houseboat. Many of them enjoy the freedom of being able to travel around the country in their own home.

StreetMic visited the River Lea by Enfield Lock and interviewed three houseboat owners who enjoy their nomadic lifestyle. They talked about the joys of living on a houseboat, and the challenges associated with not living in a fixed location.

A explosive argument erupted between Brexiteers & Remainers at The People's Vote rally in London on Saturday 19 October 2019. The argument flared up because a young lady was angry in voicing her concerns that 17.4 million people had voted to leave the EU, and a campaign was taking place to overturn a democratic result through a people's vote.

Her arguments were countered by many people who disliked her angry approach.

StreetMic Podcast took a quiet stroll along the River Lea in Enfield Lock and spotted a small Dachshund whose paralysed back legs were strapped inside a set of walking wheels. These were being pulled along by its front legs and the subsequent interview, with its proud owner, was so delightful.

StreetMic Podcast went onto the streets of London to meet and engage in a delightful conversation with Interesting people who were waiting to see the Queen. HRH was being driven in the Irish state carriage to perform the state opening of parliament at the palace of Westminster.

This was pomp & ceremony at its best and everyone who engaged in conversation with StreetMic loved the ceremonial occasion.

Central London was brought to a standstill when XR started its two weeks of climate activism around the world. Thousands of activists took to the streets of London. They raised awareness about their common cause, sang songs, played their instruments, danced and behaved themselves. Children were also allowed to play & paint in the streets because the streets were free of polluting traffic.

StreetMic was present when hundreds of activists were being arrested. In this Podcast you will hear what it was like to be present at the rebellion in Trafalgar Square. This occurred when hundreds of Police officers started to arrest activists for breaching section 14 of the Public Order Act of 1986, because they were obstructing the streets of London.

This eight minute podcast consists of many soundbites to give you a feel of what it was like at the time climate activists were being arrested.

A full-length and very detailed Podcast has also been uploaded. This captures a number of engaging conversations with climate activists from 06:30 in the morning when it was still dark & freezing cold, and a harpist was playing music to wake up encamped sleepers in Trafalgar Square. You will learn details about the aims of Extinction Rebellion and why so many committed activists are prepared to be arrested for their noble cause.

Central London was brought to a standstill when International Rebellion started its two weeks of protest around the world. Thousands of environmentalists took to the streets in Westminster, Whitehall and Trafalgar Square. They danced and enjoyed themselves and children were seen playing and painting in the streets.

A hearse was driven into Trafalgar Square and it stalled adjacent to Nelson's Column, with the driver and passenger chained to each other. A 'pretend' road casualty could also be seen under a back wheel of the hearse. This symbolic picture attracted thousands of people who were eager to capture & circulate such a unique photo via social media.

StreetMic was on the streets of London with thousands of international rebellion protestors, and many interesting interviews were captured.

StreetMic Podcast engaged in an interesting conversation with Rudolph Walker, who is better known as rum-drinking Patrick Trueman from an English soap opera called Eastenders.

Rudolph has been a Notting Hill Carnival Ambassador for many years, and he was happy to tell StreetMic Podcast about this role. This short interview is one of many that appear within the full-length podcast about the 2019 carnival.

Notting Hill Carnival is the biggest street festival in Europe, where millions of people attend over the two day event and they have lots of fun. They dance, eat good West Indian food like jerk chicken or curried goat rice & peas and they drink plenty of rum punches.

StreetMic went onto the streets of Notting Hill at 09:00 am in the morning on Children's Day to interview and capture those who were preparing for the carnival. These included people returning from J'ouvert covered in paint, sound systems setting up, stall holders preparing food to sell, and even masqueraders practising for the BIG event.

StreetMic interviewed copious numbers of people before the parade started and while it took place. These people even included the MC from Channel One sound system and many more interesting people.

Kay has built his instagram fans from zero to twenty thousand followers in six short months and has earned the rare title of being an 'Instagram Influencer.' He has done so through sheer hard work and dedication. His Instagram page is entitled 'Lifestyle Banter' and is dedicated towards uploading funny videos that are sent to him by his followers from around the world.

Kay uploads short videos about three to four times per day, and he will get about five hundred views within minutes of each upload or thousands each day. His dream on Instagram is to collaborate with advertisers so they can utilise his popular page to promote their business or products. He boasts of having famous footballers and rugby players who follow his page.

StreetMic will begin this amazing & funny podcast by getting Kay to talk about the rise of social media in society in general. He will then talk about his love for Instagram, and how he has managed to grow his followers so quickly. He will also disclose the distress he suffered when his Instagram account was DISABLED by Instagram, when he was arrived in Vegas for a holiday with his friends. Instagram had closed his account because he had infringed their content guidelines.

The Supreme Court in London decided that the Prime Minister’s advice to her Majesty was unlawful, and this resulted in parliament being prorogued and shut down. This occurred while the Brexit negotiations were still ongoing and the effect meant parliament could not exercise its constitutional function in scrutinising the actions of government.

StreetMic Podcast conducted many interviews outside the Supreme Court ninety minutes after the ground-breaking decision. Interviews were also conducted outside the Houses of Parliament and Number 10 Downing Street.

Part two of this Podcast will see street interviews outside the Houses of Parliament on the day MPs returned home, less than twenty four hours after the ground-breaking Supreme Court decision. This saw them resuming their parliamentary duties in holding Boris and the rest of the executive to account.
