In this week's episode, our host Jonathan Aymin sits down with Helen Christopher owner of Brookledge Venue to discuss how she sold her home to purchase her 60 acre venue, how she and her family moved on site and are currently in the process of renovating the buildings and restoring the land, and her long term goal of being a summer camp event destination for wedding couples and their families!

About Our Guest:

Helen Christopher, a previous elementary school teacher, fell in love with the Bookledge property when she and her family attended a wedding there 7 years ago. They purchased the 60 acre property in 2021 and she and her family moved on property and have been restoring and renovating the venue and buildings to their original glory.

Brookledge is New York's newest summer camp venue! At Brookledge you will find cabins that guests can rent, spaces for private events and glamping tents. Brookledge was once a Girls Camp called Girls Inc. They still have many buildings, pavilions, bathhouses and trails from the original camp. Brookledge’s history dates back to the 1800s! In the 1800’s German families from New York City owned the property and built cabins on the property as a vacation getaway. The buildings no longer remain, but you can find the remains of a stone fireplace at the Camp Chapel.

The property is currently being renovated and they are finishing The Treehouse Lodge. It will be an indoor treehouse and a ceiling filled with glass stars. It will be for lodging, small events and a space for brides to get ready in.
