The Israelites really wanted Samuel to appoint a King over them as he got older. The Lord provided two great men as the first kings of Israel including one very familiar young man.

Our stories this week teach us a lot about some really faithful heroes in the Old Testament. Ruth was such a faithful hard-worker that she blessed the lives of many generations! Hannah received answers to her prayers and Samuel became the first prophet in many years.

We missed a few weeks but we are back and the Israelites are still journeying to the Promised Land. The Lord gives some commandments to help the Israelites become his Covenant people. 

So far in the Old Testament we have learned about a lot of prophets and their stories. From Adam to Joseph to Moses there are lessons and symbols of the Atonement. Let's learn about a few!

Finally Pharaoh has allowed the Israelites to leave but the challenges aren't over yet! How can the people of Israel escapes the Egyptians chasing them with a giant sea in front of them?

Exodus 7-13

The Lord through Moses and Aaron commands Pharaoh to let the Israelite slaves go. When he refused, the Lord sent 10 different plagues to show Pharaoh His power and force him to obey.

This week we meet little baby Moses!! His story starts out with a lot of danger but it's all part of his journey to become a great prophet.

This week there is a pretty wild family reunion in the house of Israel. Joseph helps his brothers get some food during the 7 years of famine but not without testing them a little.

Genesis 37-41

This week we meet Joseph, Jacob's favorite son. His brothers didn't like that very much and Joseph's store turns into quite an adventure.
