  • 32 - What You Need to Know About the Future of Digital Citizenship w/ Tracy Levine
Welcome back to the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer! Today, Elyse sits down with Tracy Levine, Chairman and CEO of Advantage Talent Inc. Tracy provides Data-Driven Human Capital Management and Professional Branding.  As a keynote speaker and consultant, her insights have been featured on FOX, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, Associated Press, Reuters, and Forbes. Tracy joins Elyse as they discuss Digital Citizenship, what it really is, why it’s so important, and what we can do to be better community members online. Tracy also shares some insider information on big changes rolling out on major social platforms.   Tracy and Elyse dive into what Digital Citizenship is--just citizenship! That’s right--everything you’ve learned about citizenship in the real world can be applied online. It’s about setting a professional standard for how we interact with each other personally and professionally in a digital space. Social platforms can be a wild-west of sorts, so it’s essential that we, as visible leaders, make our community a safe place for civil communication.   Tracy also speaks on mental illness and how likes and artificial validation can impact the wellbeing of social media users. Many countries have rolled out Instagram and Facebook updates that do not display likes in hopes of improving the mental wellness of their population. By putting the focus on the content and not the popularity, frustration based on verification can be lessened. Additionally, nearly every platform punishes those who post more than once in a day. This is designed to make room for everyone to get that validation.
Tracy’s best practices for being good digital citizens include being balanced when you post. Don’t focus too much on pushing yourself. Try engaging someone else outside of your circle and verify their ideas. Not only is it a good business decision, it helps foster a healthy community. Beyond that, Tracy shares that by 2021, you will virtually need to be on social media to be hired. This means inclusiveness. Society is transforming--platforms are going to have to cater to sharing and supporting a global community. Staying linear will result in dead-ends.   Links

  • 31 - Three Ways to Conquer Your Fear of Viability
Welcome back to another episode of the Instant Impact podcast with Elyse Archer. Today is something a little different--Elyse sits down solo and shares with us three of her most effective, actionable tips on how to overcome the fear of becoming visible. It can happen to anyone--getting caught up in the negative mindset and focusing on how we sound, look, and act. But with the help of these three tips, regardless if you’re an entrepreneur or a CEO, you can step into visibility.    Tip 1: Attach necessity to becoming visible.   By attaching the worst possible outcomes to not becoming visible, and attaching the best possible outcomes to becoming visible, we set ourselves up for success through accountability. Journal about what could happen if you don’t make this change. Think about the pleasures that will come to you when you do!   Tip 2: Remember who you’re serving.   Any level of fear comes from worrying about us. You can switch that mentality by remembering that it’s not all about you! Push aside those limiting beliefs that tell you no one would be interested in working with you. Move towards the mindset that your uniqueness is what makes the message special. There are people out there waiting for you and your perspective!    Tip 3: Get over yourself already!   Everyone is already too worried about themselves to worry about you! Use that as permission to go big! Make that video and forget to hit record on your sound. Make mistakes! Put yourself out there and be known. If you mess up, it may sting, but people will forget about it in no time.    Remember, come from a place of service and the rest will follow. Links

Today, Elyse talks with Hilary Billings about overcoming the overwhelming feeling of inadequacy so many of us face in the modern world. Hilary is an on-camera host, celebrity interviewer, online influencer, and host of the podcast Red Carpet Confidence. She is a former Miss Nevada, producer for E! News, and travel host for Norwegian Cruise Line. Hilary has been a featured contributor for USA Today, Thrive Global, and Huffington Post, as well as on Extra! Entertainment TV. As a burn survivor with humorous monologue viral videos and an online audience of millions, Hilary is focused on everything but the superficial.   Hilary starts off the conversation by sharing two key things we can do as a society to help address the epidemic of feeling inadequate. First, she says, is to have more conversations about it. It shouldn’t be a taboo subject linked with failure and weakness, it should be put in the forefront and discussed. Secondly, comparison is the killer of joy. Anytime we look at our story versus someone else's, we’re setting ourselves up for failure. Once we can stop comparing ourselves to manicured content, we can point ourselves in the right direction.    Elyse and Hilary chat about stepping outside of your comfort zone and how it can help build confidence. We tend to think of life in terms of arriving. Focusing on perspective and celebrating growth is a great way to build authentic confidence and can help affirm that growth.   Finally, Hilary shares her top three tips to gain the Red Carpet Confidence:
    1.       Intentionally using social media. Making sure you’re clear on your reasons why you’re on social media.
    2.       Gap Measuring. Going from focusing on lofty goals to celebrating growth and forward progress.
    3.       A Content Diet. Conversations, what you’re watching, and what media you’re consuming. You are what you eat! Choose what is best for you and your mindset.
What you’ll learn in this podcast In today’s podcast, you’ll gain insight into the sources and causes of feeling inadequate, how to overcome them, and how to build authentic confidence. Hilary shares some actionable tips on how we can achieve Red Carpet Confidence and celebrate the growth we have internally. She shares her method for not relying on the external to validate our self-worth.

  • 27 - How To Get Out of 'Overwhelm' and Create Time Freedom in Your Business w/ Kate Gremillion
Thanks for tuning into Instant Impact with your host, Elyse Archer. Today’s conversation is with Kate Gremillion. Often times, business owners can feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get through their massive to-do list and slide into a feeling of being overwhelmed. We can get caught up in the image and personal branding and forget about putting supports in place to make it sustainable. Kate is an expert at all things streamline. She works with business owners and entrepreneurs to systemize and streamline their work by tweaking, organizing, and trimming our day-to-day activities.  She uses strategies she’s developed to create freedom with our time without working for sweat equity. Owning a business doesn’t have to be stressful!  Kate shares her tips for getting started:
    1. A “Purse Dump.” This is where Kate lays it all on the table and write down everything they should be spending their time on. This can help bring to light all the extra things on their plate. There are two questions to ask here: is this essential or is it generating revenue?
    2. Automation. What software can be used to free up time? Things like, scheduling social media posts, accounting, and sending emails can all be automated at a lower price than you would think.
    3. Outsourcing. If the thing they’re spending time on is essential or generating revenue but can’t be automated, it’s a good time to look at hiring someone who fits the job description you have based on your specific needs.
    4. Batching. Once Kate has narrowed down what has to be done, batching is a good way to get things done in advance and while you’re in a mental space that’s dedicated to the task at hand.
    5. Schedule. This is self-explanatory--decide how you want to spend your time.
Kate goes on to explain her top tips for social media efficiency. She likes to think of social media posts in 90-day campaigns. Establish a clear goal and work backward from there. Her system is MVP:  M: Mirror--give your audience something they can see themselves in. Think “Do you ever feel like…” V: Value--offer a tip or trick they can implement and get immediate results that will improve their lives.  P: Personality--share a little about yourself! Give your audience someone they can connect with.
She continues on suggesting that you should build credibility before having an ask, but do include a call to action in every post.    What you’ll learn in this episode In today’s episode, you’ll learn how to streamline, manage, and systemize your work to free up your time and energy. You’ll get some tips on how to get started, what it can cost, and what results you can see from making your business work for you.    Links Workwellwithkate.com [email protected] Systems for Scale - Systems for Scale Payment Plan ($197.00/month x 3): https://systemsforscale.teachery.co/payment-plan?a=NbfdaYHj Systems for Scale - Systems for Scale Main Page ($497.00): https://systemsforscale.teachery.co/checkout?a=NbfdaYHj

  • 26 - How to Create an Online Course w/ Dr. Carrie Rose
Welcome back to the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer! In today’s conversation, Elyse sits down with Dr. Carrie Rose to talk about building an online course. Dr. Rose is a #1 Best Selling Author, Educator, Entrepreneur,  & Keynote Speaker, Thinkific Expert, and notably one of Huffington Posts Must Follow Women Entrepreneurs. Currently, she works with entrepreneurs, online marketers, and businesses around the country to provide the highest quality of learning strategies with the greatest amount of impact on a variety of different platforms. Carrie has created a course building process that uses the findings from over 500 research studies on how the human brain connects to content. Her strategy is based around the user and what benefits they are getting from the course and today she offers some insight into what that entails.   First, she shares with us who may be a good candidate for building an online course. She says that in the end, you owe it to your family and yourself to put yourself in a place where if something were to happen, you could shift your focus to what is most important and meet the needs of your family. Outside of that, it depends on what you’re trying to sell--be it a service, coaching, or brick and mortar, there are plenty of opportunities to create a course. If you have something that you’re known for, expertise you can share, and a process that has the clear intention of getting your customer on the right path, you’re in a good place to hit the ground running.    Carrie talks about the first steps we can take when we’re looking to build an online course. Something to watch out for, she says, is taking every bit of knowledge you know and shoving it into a course. This can turn into a 45-hour long course with massively long videos, which won’t retain the value you’re hoping to give. A better approach would be to look at your standard customer’s pathway to success and break down places where they may need guidance. You want to bring them from point A to point B and give them the quickest route to the most immediate win. Try to hone in on the ‘why’ and ‘how’ and turn those into your objectives.    Finally, Carrie and Elyse talk about pricing, one of the most difficult things to do in the practice. Carrie’s insight is to think about the value of the solution you’re providing. The fastest and easiest way to gauge where you’re pricing should be is to test it in the market. If you’re giving it away for free, you’re not getting true data on who is interested in purchasing the course. She suggests not to wait to grow a list before marketing your course--run after it. Remember that quality is greater than quality. A shorter list with engagement is more valuable than a long list with none.    What you’ll learn in this episode   In today’s episode, you’ll gain some insight into what it takes to build an online course. You’ll learn what makes a good candidate for someone looking to establish a course, the benefits of having an online learning system, and how to price your content. Dr. Rose shares the foundational mentality that is needed to build an effective course and how to shift our focus to the perspective of the user.    Links   Theonlinecoursesummit.com    FREE 72 hour access to over 60 speakers and masterclass training. @drcarrierose (Instagram) www.of-course.us Request a free Brand Strategy Call: http://thebrandbuildersgroup.com/callelyse

  • 25 - Unlocking Loyalty w/ John Ruhlin
Thanks for stopping by the Instant Impact podcast with your host, Elyse Archer. Today, Elyse talks loyalty with the loyalty expert himself, John Ruhlin. John is the author of “Giftology”, a book where he explains his philosophy on how to build better, deeper relationships in a shockingly easy way. He’s also a speaker and leads his team of giftologists who have created gift packages for some of the largest companies and pro sports teams in the world, but their mission and heart is to serve and take relationships for mid-sized, privately owned businesses to a new level using their Proven Process.  John is a farm boy. He’s a blue-collar man who got his start interning at Cutco selling knives. With the help of his mentor, who he watched give free knives to CEOs, John had a lightbulb moment. It wasn’t about the knives, it was about the message behind sending the gift unprompted and without expectation.  John and Elyse talk about how to get referrals without asking. Asking for a referral can be uncomfortable and awkward. John’s points out that most people give gifts out of obligation--be it a holiday or a special event. They also give cheap, meaningless gifts with a logo slapped on there. A better way to approach giving is to be consistent. The gifts your giving aren’t for giggles. They’re acting as artifacts that will leave an impression that can lead to being referred based on your generosity, thoughtfulness, and genuine care.  As far as loyalty goes, John emphasizes the importance of inspiring actively loyalty. This means they are thinking of you and talking about you in their circles, bringing in more referrals. As he says, you don’t need to hire a full-time sales representative if your clients are referring you. By showing love with no strings attached, relationships flourish. Elyse mentions that industries are often dog-eat-dog and these thoughtful gifts cut through that. Remember, it’s not about the gift itself—they are a tangible way to show the care you have.  So, what if you have a loyalty problem, either with clients or employees? Where do you start? John suggests that you take care of your own team and start internally. For example, John has his employees homes cleaned regularly and has their cars detailed on Mother’s day. By establishing a strong relationship with your employees and showing them love, the loyal bond that’s built pays off long term. John also suggests avoiding temporary gifts like food. Think about the cost per impression. You want a gift that will keep you in your client’s minds 365 days of the year, not the afternoon some fruit will last. Create lifelong, bucket list experiences for clients.    What you’ll learn in this episode In today’s episode, you’ll learn how to build loyalty, both internally with your team, and externally with your clients through meaningful gift-giving. John shares some insight on how to identify a loyalty problem and how you can mend relationships by showing love to those around you. John tells us how much to spend on strategic gift-giving and what makes it so impactful.    Links Email: [email protected] Referrals with no asking – free course https://giftologybook.com/ https://johnruhlin.com/ Request a free Brand Strategy Call: http://thebrandbuildersgroup.com/callelyse

  • 24 - Living in Your Zone of Genius w/ Dr. Richard Shuster
Thanks for tuning into another episode of the Instant Impact Podcast with your host, Elyse Archer. Today’s conversation is with Dr. Richard Shuster. Richard is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, host of The Daily Helping podcast, and genuinely great person. Elyse and Richard discuss how to shift our mindset to find our zone of genius, how to check if we’re feeling fulfilled, and why reaching that doesn’t need to be hard.    Richard’s life was put into perspective when he had a near-death experience in a car accident. Before that moment, Richard went through the motions building the empire and grinding into success. But once he was forced to step back and evaluate who he wanted to be and where he wanted to go, he left the company he was working for and went into social work, ultimately becoming a clinical psychologist.    Richard is all about helping those around him and shifting the focus from the self to others. When we are helping others, he says, our bodies respond positively physically and psychologically. By helping people become the best versions of themselves, Richard was able to find his Zone of Genius. When he finds himself here, work is effortless. He explains that when you come from a place of contentment in your life personally and professionally, goodness overflows into other aspects of your life.    Elyse and Richard chat about how we are programmed into negative self-talk and how important it is to break out of that. Finding a catalyst in an experience to reframe your mindset. Find a silver lining in an event that impacted you. This is a process and a process that isn’t for everyone. It’s a journey moving through lamenting previous choices into a positive outlook.    Finally, Richard gives us two simple checks we can ask ourselves to see if we’re fulfilled in our personal and professional lives:
    1. What do I love?
    2. Am I spending enough time in those areas?
Yep—it’s that simple. If you wake up and are excited and ready to take on your Monday, bingo. If you’re dreading the morning on Sunday night, it might be time to make that shift.    What you’ll learn in this episode   In today’s episode, Richard offers insight on how to shift our mindset to find our zone of genius, how to check if we’re feeling fulfilled, and why reaching that doesn’t need to be hard. • 23 - Making Quantum Leaps In Your Personal Brand w/ Gaynete Jones
Welcome back to the Instant Impact Podcast with your host, Elyse Archer! Today’s guest is Gaynete' (Edwards) Jones, a leading Millennial mentor, motivational speaker, best-selling author, blogger, YouTuber, founder of G.A.M.E. Changing Industries, and creator of The Book Boss Blueprint and The Goal Chaser VIP. Gaynete's mission is to help Millennial women turn their passions into profit, creating a life of comfort, fulfilment, and freedom for themselves. In this episode, she shares her incredible story and offers some tactical tips for building a brand based on adding value through genuine connection.    Gaynete’s story is an inspirational journey of realization and growth. As a student, Gaynete was held at gunpoint by a band of crooked cops in South America. It was this humbling experience that opened her eyes to what really mattered. With this experience as a foundation, she explains that everyone has “hostage” situations—one where they may feel trapped. It’s in those moments that we assess our priorities. Her own priorities were brought front and center when her parents were both diagnosed with cancer. These events shifted something inside her. By taking little steps every day, she was able to snowball into bigger steps, leading to her finishing her best-selling book in just under three months. This “deathbed” perspective forces you to think about what you want your legacy to be, and that’s a key part of success.    Gaynete offers insight into kicking complacency. She says motivation ebbs and flows. It’s natural to have moments where there’s no motivation at all. What’s important, though, is to remember that the results are the same regardless of motivation. The first step, she says, is to surround yourself with people who are doing things—those who are successful. Connect in real life or on social media and build a brand through the channels you form.    Gaynete gives us her tips for intentional audience building:
    1. Post 1-2 minute focused videos every day. Encourage your audience to respond or write back.
    2. Reach out to pages with larger audiences to boost your following.
    3. Comment on resonating posts from large pages with something that will add value. This will bring traffic towards your page.
    4. Post simple infographics! These are helpful and more shareable.
    5. Try to answer questions or respond to every comment. Continue the conversation in DMs!
What you’ll learn in this episode In this episode, you’ll gain some tactical tips for building a brand based on adding value through genuine connection, how to maneuver out of ‘hostage situations,’ and kick complacency by assessing your priorities.    Links   Connect with Gaynete on Social Media @Gaynete
