Taking Time Out To Be In Awe

Listen Later

Gosh, it is difficult these days to find something to be happy about. Or to be positive in general. But Gretchen Reynolds says, why don't you go for an awe walk?

Now, what is an AWE walk?! Well, it's simply getting outside and noticing the things around you. Older men and women who took a fresh look at the objects and vistas around them felt more upbeat and hopeful.

Gretchen is back on the show to tell us all about finding moments of awe in our lives. She writes the popular "Phys Ed" column for The New York Times, which posts online as part of the "Well" blog and also appears in the print edition of the paper's "Science Times."
